Phase Two of the plan activated. Blame it on the Dems and the poor.
fter instituting a $1.5 trillion tax cut and signing off on a $675 billion budget for the Department of Defense, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday that the only way to lower the record-high federal deficit would be to cut entitlement programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

"It’s disappointing, but it’s not a Republican problem," McConnell said of the deficit, which grew 17 percent to $779 billion in fiscal year 2018. McConnell explained to Bloomberg that "it’s a bipartisan problem: Unwillingness to address the real drivers of the debt by doing anything to adjust those programs to the demographics of America in the future." The deficit has increased 77 percent since McConnell became majority leader in 2015.

Surely not. Was McConnell not given the memo that explained that the tax cuts were completely self paying, in fact would lead to an increase.

Maybe he was out of the office that day.

I assume that the 1st to go will be the $12bn given in state aid to farmers.

Republican Party call themselves the law and order party and fiscally responsible.

The idea as per that painting, that Regan et al would be laughing and joking with Trump after what he has done to that party is utter ridiculous

State propaganda arm doing it's job again.
Fox News host and radio personality Sean Hannity appeared Monday to tie a violent attack by a far-right group that led to three arrests for assaults over the weekend to vandalism by antifa counterprotesters. Hannity also denied knowing much about the far-right group, despite having its founder on his Fox program numerous times.

The violent skirmish, which was caught on video, showed members of the alleged hate group Proud Boys assaulting antifa protesters following the appearance of Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes at the Metropolitan Republican Club on New York’s Upper East Side Friday evening.

On his radio program, Hannity deflected knowing much about the group, but he did know McInnes, according to press watchdog Media Matters for America. McInnes had appeared 24 times on Hannity’s between January 2014 and May 2015.

I'm just amazed at all the things we take for granted over here that seem to be absent in the US. Press standards, voting rights, medical care.

    just saw this from Avenatti

"realDonaldTrump is in the worst physical shape of any modern President and is starting to exhibit signs of dementia. Shouldn’t we expect the POTUS to maintain a minimal level of physical and mental fitness? If he didn’t have the stamina for the job, he shouldn’t have taken it."

Is he just prodding the beast or might he be correct? (it is insulting to refer to someone in this way isn't it ,even if deserved?)

TBF, it's not like Avenatti has an agenda or anything...

What has press standards got to do with it? If anything it was reported wrong (and no doubt not updated by many outlets) with the whole story, antifa broke windows and vandalised and in that instance they confronted and threw a bottle at the 'proud boys' first . Proud boys are a strange group of idiots but Antifa started the fight.

there are a number of reasons why this is being said.

    1) Avenatti is eyeing up a run in 2020.
    2) Some on here think that Trump has advanced syphilis, which can lead to dementia
    3) Trump made HRC's health an issue for 2016
    4) His own doctor lied through his teeth about Trump

Mr Trump seems to be denying that Khashoggi is dead in the Iranian Embassy in Turkey,

Do people think he is dead

    Iranian?

Either way, I think most people do believe him to be dead.

Abe Lincoln is roasting Trump, and like at the U.N., the rest of the club are not laughing with him; they're laughing AT him.

That explains the characteristic Trump smirk cum grimace that you often see from Trump when someone is having a go at him...

When Trump says he has no interest in Saudi Arabia, he is being quite specific.

Because, he certainly does have interests with Saudi Arabia.

    Saudi embassy.

He's most certainly dead. If he was alive the Saudis would have produced him already, and if they had anything that could exonerate themselves they would have produced that before their big investment conference fell to bits.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,181 ✭✭✭Stallingrad

And the Saudis are also trying to build a tourism industry. Good luck with that.

The police released cctv video, if we're talkin about the same thing.

Source is a bit dodgy but details have been reported about the death. Quite disturbing.

    https://nypost.com/2018/10/17/audio-reveals-details-of-jamal-khashoggis-torture-decapitation-report/

Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was tortured and decapitated inside Riyadh’s consulate in Istanbul, a Turkish newspaper reported Wednesday, saying it had heard audio recordings of the brutal slaying.
Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist who vanished after visiting the consulate on Oct. 2 to pick up paperwork ahead of his wedding, had his fingers chopped off before he was beheaded, according to the pro-government Yeni Safak.

The source told the site that his death took seven minutes, with forensic physician Dr. Salah Muhammed Al-Tubaigy listening to music as he began to cut Khashoggi’s body while he was still alive.

As someone on Twitter pointed out, if this is what SA are prepared to do in a foreign country, imagine what they do to their own people at home!

So because he sold things to Saudi people thats it then. Sure the guy who owns Burger King in Dublin Airport must have a laundry list of questionable international interests so.

He could do. He's not in charge of the US though is he?

So you have fully satisfied yourself that Trump has no business dealings that may impact on his view of SA? You don't even feel the need to question it?

I mean, we don't know anything about his business dealings since he won't release his tax returns, so how can you be so sure?

So selling anything to a citizen of a country that has questionable relations / politics / policies now makes you unfit to be president ?

No. it makes a person like Trump even more unfit. Everyone knows he's a liar, a cheat, a failed businessman and a Narcissist. Very dodgy dealings with a very dodgy regime just adds petrol to the fire.

When he's jumping to the defense of a regime who killed a US resident and jorunalist in their embassy, it's a pretty fair thing to question.

Of course. That's what the emolument's clause in the Constitution is about. The President basically can't engage in business dealings while President. This is why Trump's handed all this off to his company and his sons are running it*.

*: and if you believe he's uninvolved, I've got a bridge to sell you.

this is just verging on the edge of conspiracy theory now. Where would he even have the hours of the day to engage in all this.

He's the one who spread the idea of a rogue agent initially and is also spreading the obvious nonsense that MBS didn't know about it. He is actively covering for the Saudis.
