Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    AMP TEST

    Did Amp go rogue?
He was best buds with the people that made this site was a high level mod for age and then just disappeared. Did something happen that is missed?

He virulently disagreed with how commercialised the site became. Don't think he went rogue, just criticized the changes. ...As far as I remember... It used to be managed with more as a community than a business.

The thing is that a site like this really grows out of a sense of community with people contributing in various ways for free, for example by moderating forums. There is an argument that a commercial enterprise that presents itself as a community and leverages community spirit is exploitative.

Most of your 'modern' menginas are said to be partial to consuming soy products which is said to increase oestrogen levels and therefore make them more womanly at least by perception

It is proven though that women are advised not to consume soy products if they already have high levels of oestrogen

    https://draxe.com/5-high-estrogen-foods-avoid/

So you're saying drinking soy will give me a fanny?

What I remember being funny at the time was we weren't allowed to talk about KPMG girl's rant or indeed her very existence, but the Gangnam Style remix by Friday Projx got a free pass because it was just so damn hilarious :D

Is there a link to this?

The utd soccer mod was hilariously bad at his job. The only thing funnier than him wading into the Liverpool thread with his cards out after a win, was the reaction in the utd thread to his sacking.

You mean one of the best Mods on Boards.

He seemed like a bit of a spazbot to be honest.

He was straight into the Liverpool thread after the Champions League Final looking for reactions and handing out cards like confetti.

Personally stuff like that doesn't bother me - it's only the internet - but it's kinda childish.

It’s just the CD burner thing was funny.

    tubgirl ?
Tubgirl, mentioned alongside two girls one cup, goatse, the pain olympics... Lemon Party is also sometimes mentioned but I find that one funny.

Thanks for the answer, mystery solved.

Is closing two of the most popular threads on After Hours simply because they weren't jolly enough a good enough reason to be seen as going rogue?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

    Which ones were closed Snake?

Edit: never mind, I just saw. TBH, I'm shocked they lasted as long as they did.

The introduction of Thanks feature democratized the site to a certain extent and everybody realized that the only people that found certain cliques funny were the cliques themselves.

There was one on the soccer forum a while back, although in his defence I think he was just continuing on from the previous mod in his position.

In fairness to the admins/other mods they stepped in and put a stop to it after about 6 months.
