Posting on behalf of a friend....

Basically he took it for an auto wash at a pump(shud jot have)..and the ABS light came on 2-3 hrs later...

Can we check anything to see where issue might be ?

What kind of damages are we looking here ?

    Thanks in advance.

You can check the diagnostic code and live data to ascertain the cause of the fault

My car would flash the esp light on an odd time after wash or heavy rain however it was related to the abs
Could be that water has entered one of the sensors or into the ecu or dirt has entered a sensor
It might go away after the sensor drys out
    If not get it checked
    Keep an eye on it

Does the light stay on after the car is shut down and restarted?

Has the wheels been of it lately? Change of tyres or alloys or anything
    Wheel bearings or anything done?
Chances are one of the wheels abs sensors are causing the fault or like said above a fuse

You are at nothing untill the car is scanned and the fault code is read, was engine bay washed ?

Where is the car based ? If it's in Kildare i can scan it for you.

Update - got it checked it at a indy...fault code indicates that the abs pump is gone. Looks like a big fix. Any views what is the best option ? To buy a new pump or replace it with an old one ?

Off to a scrapyard or find someone on done deal or adverts breaking one
Just make sure its the correct part number,Will be on the abs pump itself
Sold an abs pump awhile ago for a 20 Euros working perfect, although for a diferent car
