Well my buttcheeks have just clenched significantly more tightly. I'll take any sort of win now.

We legitimately may have a back line of McGrath, Byrne, ROL, Reid, Ringrose, Byrne and Larmour.

Dave Kearney resumed training this week so should be in contention for selection too.

Two early Sean Cronin tries should settle those nerves... can't see them coming from anywhere else really! :P

    ---Healy---Cronin----Furlong---

    Ryan----Toner

    ---Ruddock---Conan---Leavy---

With McGrath, Tracey, Porter, Fardy and Van Der Flier to come in.

That's a pack and replacements that can get us through tomorrow. It's one of the best any team in the world could field, international or domestic.

    Dave Kearney to start.

backline of Luke, Ross, Dave, Rory, Garry, Adam and Jordan.

    Rhys to captain from no.6

    assuming Leavy/Toner make it.

Has there been a question around Leavy?

Would make sense with the absentees. DK is a more rounded and reliable player in a back line that is already decimated. He has also looked good in his limited appearances. Noel Reid can feel disappointed though.

I suppose Sexton's absence made Ruddock's selection inevitable . There will be some absolute savagery up front between those two packs tomorrow. I still back us to get the job done. The team will have a siege mentality with those absences and be hugely fired up.

We just cannot give them loose ball though or they'll do damage.

Ah here. This is a disaster.

No surprise about either Sexton or Henshaw but Kearney is a huge blow. A back three of Larmour, Byrne and O'Loughlin (I suppose), against that Toulouse backline, that's the stuff of dreams when we have the ball and a DTs-induced nightmare when they have it.

Edit: if DK is back that is great news, but he must be 50-50 to actually stay on the pitch...

    Told Toner/Leavy are out.

    1. Healy
    2. Cronin
    3. Furlong
    4. Fardy
    5. Ryan
    6. Ruddock
    7. JVDF
    8. Conan
    9. McGrath
    10. Byrne
    11. Kearney
    12. ROL
    13. Ringrose
    14. Byrne
    15. Larmour

Hmm. I don't think Leinster will win this now. Just too many injuries at the same time. The pack is still good and the game plan will be to hold on to possession as much as possible. But I don't think the defensive solidity is there to withstand Toulouse. We're not going to beat them by playing their brand of rugby either.

I think it'll be obvious in the first 20 minutes.

Either Toulouse will show up the back line and run all over the place or Leinster's pack will bully them early, get some scores and Toulouse drop their heads.

    One score game
The game will be one by the odd try in 21

Leinster will just need to keep it tight, and Ross Byrne and Luke McGrath will have to ensure they find grass with every kick.

Cronin is four tries off Kearney to becoming Leinster's top current try scorer.

So basically do something that no halfback pairing has ever achieved?!

    Simple!

For the record, think Leinster will win still.

no bother... play Fardy at 12 :)

Only consolation is there's no mad need to chase a big score. Winning by 3 points or winning by 50 doesn't really change the arithmetic for topping the pool.

What would I even do here then?!

We played that first Wasps game with an almost full deck if I remember correctly. How times have changed. Tomorrow is getting trickier.

It does change the arithmetic for a home semi, but I guess that's optimistic at this stage.

It does for a home semi if Ulster do us a favour.

You'll take 4 points but 5 points is still really valuble.

Not sure if that’s a realistic option

I don't think the bookies really make too many adjustments to open books. They just let the cash balance it.

Get PoM in as an injury joker to cover the wing.

It's where he plays most of his rugby anyway.

They know what money is coming in and not much else.

yeah agreed, their starting point is theirs to set....
but dont think for a second think that they dont manipulate the spread odds, especially on foot of information they may get, in order to make some spreads appear more attractive.

ive seen nothing to suggest that in the last 12 hours that the spread should widen by another 2 points, but hey, maybe thats just where the money is going.

    edit:

LOL and within the last hour its dropped back to -9 :)
