A solution to that would be an agreement not to take each others academy players.

    Wish we had that here..............................................

Lowe could cover 7, would be a shorter run for him to slap backs after a good scrum / turnover.

    Eddie is that you?

Jack McGrath and Henshaw straight back into the starting 15.

They went for Fardy instead of Lowe too. Smart decision for an away game. We suffered for not having Fardy in the side at the Rec. Himself and SoB could do a lot of damage off the bench.

SOB, Henshaw and Toner coming back in from last week. Lowe left out for Fardy. Jack McGrath not picked at all last week, starting this week.

Toner, Henshaw, McGrath all back into starting team. SOB on bench along with Fardy.

Sickening forward bench to come on.

No sign of Leavy or, more curiously, Kearney.

I think Lowe being left out shows just how well DK and Byrne went last week and have been going generally this season.

No Lowe?? Seems odd given his last outing against Wasps.

First choice Wasps, and Leicster for the record. So these teams aren't throwing it at home.

We look fondly upon Leinster beating Bath at home three years ago with the youngsters, but if Wasps were putting out a team equivalent to that which Leinster put out, we'd accuse them of throwing it and not being able to compete on two fronts. The game is enticing.

Interesting squad. Seems the theory about Leinster wanting to send Lowe a message about the red card is ringing true.

Is Frawley injured? Two weeks on the trot he wasn't included.

Delighted to see SOB and Henshaw back.

Starting to feel slightly worried for Rob Kearney now. If he doesn't play next week, that'll be only three games since October leading up to the England match.

Leaving out Lowe to have Fardy on the bench is a weird one.

Yeah very surprising especially as he’s had 2 weekends off.

I reckon Toner and Ryan are playing 80 minutes. Fardy gives them an option to bring on if a backrower goes down in the first 20, that means we don't have to risk Sob straight off the bat

Toner might not be 100% so good to have cover in Fardy.

You'd also have to say that neither A Byrne nor Kearney deserved to be dropped after last week.

You could make the same call about Rory in fairness.

He's not in the European squad.

Yeah he is, but Reid has done well anytime he's been called upon.

    15. Rob Miller, 14. Josh Bassett, 13. Michele Campagnaro, 12. Gaby Lovobalavu, 11. Elliot Daly, 10. Lima Sopoaga, 9. Dan Robson, 1. Zurabi Zhvania, 2. Tom Cruse, 3. Jake Cooper-Woolley, 4. Joe Launchbury (c), 5. Will Rowlands, 6. Brad Shields, 7. Nizaam Carr, 8. Nathan Hughes.
    Replacements:
    16. Ashley Johnson, 17. Ben Harris, 18. Will Stuart, 19. Charlie Matthews, 20. Ben Morris, 21. Craig Hampson, 22. Billy Searle, 23. Marcus Watson

    Wasps going fully loaded anyway

The idea that any of the English teams, especially Exeter, deliberately throw the HEC is laughable. The Wasps selection for this weekend goes towards proving that point.

That’s a bloody good selection from Leinster though. The forwards to come off the bench is something else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,379 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Well, we'll be praying Byrne doesn't go down early in the game, Reid covering 10 for a long period doesn't fill me with confidence, even in a game such as this.

There is a subtext to this fixture in that many of these Wasps players may be in the Aviva in a few weeks in White.

Leinster are - 17 now on Paddy Power. Guess the wasps team changed that.

So it's Wasps against Ireland. That seems to be a common refrain from the English media.

"That Leinster team is basically Ireland".

As I mentioned in the Ulster thread, there is no Premiership fixture next week. There's no reason for the English teams to rest players.

O'Brien over Deegan on the bench is very questionable given Deegan's excellent performances lately. O'Brien will probably come on late, do nothing, and then get injured before the end

Which one are you again? The anti-foreigner one or the anti-private schools one?

    *Removed quotes, sorry lads.

That's a great Leinster selection. Delighted Fardy has been picked rather than Lowe - with Toner just back and a brittle SOB being on the bench too, Fardy could be busy. Fantastic to have Henshaw and Ringrose together at last! And Adam Byrne and Dave Kearney deserve another start after last week's performance. And that's some bench.

Wasps are giving this their best shot with that selection. Should be a good match.

Fardy's definitely there to cover any questions over fitness in Toner and if SOB has to come on early, but also, he's playing absolutely savage lately too, let's not forget that.

Absolutely. What a guy to have there if it comes down to a dog fight. I'm delighted he's included.

The Wasps 15 is actually rather decent. They'll be tough enough especially when at home. But Leinster's bench is significantly stronger. If it's a closeish game after 50 minutes our substitutes could swing it to our favour.

It's a good team from Wasps but they're missing Young from the back row who was their best performer in Dublin along with WLR and de Jongh in the back line. They shouldn't pose too much of a threat in attack if Leinster do their jobs.

With Leinster's forward replacements, it should be a case of Wasps falling away in the last quarter as they lose interest and think about a week off.
