Hasn’t learned to assume a sitting position in front of the mirror to give it the all clear yet. Shirts always look fine when you’re standing up.

He's always had a tendency to wear shirts that were too small for him.

Tomane has been in four tackles so far and missed three of them according to ultimate Rugby including that fluffed tackle that led to the first try.

He was a liability against Newcastle as well. He needs to sort it out fast.

I wouldn't be too concerned yet. It takes a while for players to acclimatise to a new teams defensive system.

Lowe was abominable at the start until he got used to it.

Yes but Lowe was on the wing meaning he naturally had the sideline to help him. Tomane is getting exposed in the middle of the field with nobody but Kearney behind him.

Has Tracy embraced his natural hair colour? I suppose he's old enough now...

Tomane needs a right kick up the hole.

Forwards aren't looking strong in contact.

    That's crap.

Ah the defence is just shambolic

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

Imagine having the ball ripped by a Welsh back! Tomane, that's shocking

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Jesus. That was domino defending. First man bit in, next stepped in and last stepped in.

Second time Dave's been caught at the back.

He wasn't. Mistake came before him. McFadden and Kearney had no choice but to come in.

That is god ****ing awful defence.

I know this is a fairly second string squad, but we've been brutal in defense, and also nowhere near good enough with ball in hand.

Leinster defence all at sea tonight

edit: what's worrying is it's mostly off first phase ball they're struggling

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,169 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    This is abysmal.

I don't care if it's first fixture of the season. Our defending is appalling

Terrible just terrible, going to be a long night now. Brutal start to a season

    Shambolic again

Getting roasted when they move the ball. No pressure in midfield. Centre partnership and back row are setting no line speed.

Woegeous. Shocking basic errors. This could easy be 50.

There was zero effort there to spread wide from that ruck, players walking across.

    Baptism of fire for Tomane.

Tomane nearly tackled Kearney there. Our handling at times has been amazing, edge of your seat stuff but our forwards just aren't able to build pressure and Cardiff are choking is figuratively and literally.

Not going to be a fun week for those lads

No it couldn't. Two quick tries have changed a game on a knife edge.

The reaction is hilariously over the top for the season opener.

Still think we can win here if we cut out the errors

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,218 ✭✭✭A-Train

    Great maul, good score

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,967 ✭✭✭Synode

Yes, that's exactly what we needed. Great rolling maul

    More mauls please!

I reckon we'll turn it on. Ross Byrne having to carry a lot which has just been highlighted by Toland. Again, that's an absence of a 12 or a 15 stepping up a lot of the time.
