The fall of Jack McGrath is baffling. Should have started the WC QF vs Argentina in 2015. A Lion in 2017, touch and go with Vunipola to start vs NZ. Trusted to provide impact from the bench with the games in the balance. And 18 months later he’s 3rd choice at Leinster. As said seems to have little impact about the pitch where as before he was one of the few front rows who could go the best part of 80mins in the middle of everything despite his bulk. A bit like when Healy was struggling, his only noticeable impact seems to be to give away a penalty a game

Jack Dunne is making strides atm. Seems like he's passed Dowling.

I don't think Dowling is being looked at as a lock long term. Already featured more in the back row in his senior cameos.

With Charlie Ryan and Ryan Baird looking very good prospects too, the outlook at lock is incredibly good for Leinster in comparison to several years ago where they were literally holding open sessions for anyone who was 6'6" or over.

Are any of these kids a result of Route 6'6 or whatever that was.

    Once is enough Buer.

One day soon, I'll share my thoughts on John Hayes, Ulster Rugby or Bernard Jackman.

Not really as they are too young for that initiative

No. Route 6'6 was looking at those who hadnt played rugby or had fallen out of the sport
And these guys would to too young anyway

    What's this you're on about...

Sounds like some kind of yellow pack eugenics scheme

It was a pretty cringey initiative Leinster had a few years ago to identify tall lads who might be second row material, in response to our apparent inability to produce them.

Baird especially look to have a ton of potential. He was excellent for the U20's when coming off the bench. It's a shame he wasn't fully fit when that tournament started.

Byrne didn't actually need to tackle Seymour there. He had caught up to him.

Quite smart play from Seymour not to pick up the ball actually.

Seymour read it a mile away, Byrne just bit to early.

    Who goes to 10 now?

Tomane seems to be getting into system, looks more settled in attack and defense.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,906 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

Not a good start from Ross Byrne

That was some godawful tackling at the end, though a well taken try.

Surely the Glasgow 6 is in from the side there?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,300 ✭✭✭MaybeMaybe

Glasgow player prevented the clear out by not rolling away

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,169 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Leinster haven't had any meaningful possession in ages.
