I'm not so sure, I watched him in one of the pre season games and he looked a bit lost, not sure he knew what the Vakh he was doing to be honest :pac:

He was grand actually, looks a good prospect!

Looked strong in the carry when he played for the first team at the end of last season ( can't remember the opponents). Scored a try of a pick and drive. Looked like a serious unit from what I saw.

you do know 99.9 % of Leinster is not D4?

I'm sure furlong and Sean O'Brien would love your comment

And 99.9% are not good enough to make the Leinster team. You are aware it is made up of mostly Dublin players. Either the country boys aren't good enough or Leinster rugby resides primarily in Dublin catchment area because that is where the talent pool exists. Either way I'm glad I'm not from turnip producing crop (Furlong and SOB aside of course)

That's a fairly loaded team! 4 of the 5 first choice tight 5 and 2 of the first choice back row. Henshaw should add a huge amount at 12 too. Lowe and Larmour linking up again could be pure entertainment.

Definitely would've chose Fardy to partner Toner at the cost of Lowe personally, but other than that not much to complain about. Good to see Murphy getting the nod.

I was about to say two fairly loaded teams....

That's a much stronger team than I expected, it might be a bit rusty though.
    Should be a good game.

Strong pack. Looking forward to seeing Larmour at 15.

Fardy was brilliant in every game against the Scarlets last season. he bleew their poachers off the ball so many times. He'll be missed tomorrow.

That's a very strong front row and back row, but the lack of an actual openside will hurt us. Expect Ken Owens and James Davies to win a few turnovers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Really interesting side. Didn't expect Henshaw or Furlong to be available but I think all others were half expected. Good impact available from the bench again and I'm happy to see Fardy taking a break and Lowe getting the run out.

I think we'll need to really have our wits about us at the breakdown though. We were hammered there last week due to our lack of an openside and James Davies is every bit as good.

Regardless of absent players, that's a very tidy Scarlets team. I'd probably take a LBP right now but would be hopeful of our bench getting us a win if it's a single score game going into the final 25 minutes.

    Damn that's a strong team.

Did not think we would be seeing Henshaw or Furlong till rounds 4 or 5.

    Happy days

Brilliant for the league to see 2 teams this strong so early in the season.

At least 13 of the 23 from outside Dublin possibly more. Not that it matters but just to prove a point to a troll. We are all blue together in Leinster!!

Throwing in foreigners as token country players is a bit of a stretch. I'd like to see what percentage are from the country in the entire squad. Oh and save the "we are all together" for when you're singing along to Michael Jacksons greatest hits.

Just realized that Nagle is playing! Is Ryan not available?
Nagle has been terribly disappointing and really is below the standard to face Scarlets imo.

Ryan played every minute in Australia so I’d say he’s just not available yet.

What's the youngest a player has ever gotten onto a central contract? I'd imagine Ryan's next contract will be central given the year he had last year.

I think it's only gonna hurt us on their ball. We've a huge amount of carry in that pack and if our halves are keeping a good tempo we should be able to thrive off quick ball without too much of a contest on the deck. We definitely might have trouble slowing them up and we don't want to gift that back line a platform, but then jesus look at our backline - Larmour, Lowe, Henshaw - loads of threat.

I can't wait for this, should be an absolute cracking game of rugby.

What a weekend overall. Can't. Wait.

Probably Henshaw? Think he was 22 when he signed his when he moved from Connacht.

Vdf for the home opener? Should be good next week. What a difference an openside will make. Of course, no slight on the mighty Ruddock.

Unlikely - O'Driscoll was much younger when he signed his.
