Apologies, it is Parkes. He has also been one of the best players and attackers in the league over the past couple of years. Beating Ruddock is nothing to do with Tomane.

Parkes has been a major major surprise. He was journeyman personified when he played super rugby but has looked pretty decent in Europe. Fair play to the man.

Joey leaving is the worst thing for Leinster since Setanta left the academy to join the Red Branch Knights in the 1st century AD. Kid basically beat Connacht on his own as a 17 year old. Some talent.

Do we have four home games in a row now?

    Nope.

Dragons and Edinburgh at home, Connaught away, Munster in Lansdowne.

What sort of team do we all expect to have when we play Edinburgh, got a friend coming over from the states. It'll be her first rugby game, think she'd like to see some stars. (she's going regardless, just wondering what to expect).

I can see us resting the big names v Connacht as we have Munster, Wasps, Toulose the following three weeks?

Cant see a full strength squad for Edinburgh at home, Full squad against the Dragons id imagine then edinburgh rested a few with the weeks ahead.

you defend inside-out on a drift.

Therefore the blame is squarely between Ruddock and Conan.

He'd obviously seen the footage from the Cardiff game and felt he had to try to cover Tomane's inside as well as his own.

But anyway, it's unfair to criticise Tomane when he's playing out of position. I'm just bemused by the fact that Leinster have brought in a winger to be their back-up 12

Which would still be entirely Ruddock's fault. You do your own job first and worry about the people beside you after.

Surely it’s unfair to blame Tomane for something Ruddock did in the first place.

I don't think I'm blaming him per se. But he was all at sea in defence against Cardiff, and teammates would sorta instinctively sense that and that might have a knock-on effect on how they defend with him in twos and threes. I was saying this might have been a factor in Ruddock overchasing

I think the most likely thing that happened here was, right before the game, Joe Tomane decided to take a quick look at Boards to see what the craic was in this thread. He read some of Richie Rich's abject nonsense and suffered temporary brain damage, rendering him incapable of making the covering tackle on Parkes.

    Sounds sensible.

When you play as flat to the line as Joey wants to you have to be able to take the inevitable hits and I'm not sure that he's carrying enough weight to be able to do so. But if he bulks up, then he loses some of his ability to step.

Glasgow went out of their way to lamp him marginally late at least twice at the weekend. He stayed down for 30 seconds after one of them. I wonder if he can weather that kinda stuff over the longer term.
I think bulking is exactly the worst thing he could do, the game is only become more and more about evasion and change of direction. I would imagine the rules will keep changing until there is less high impact collisions and head injuries

Good little article on Jordan Larmour and how well he played at full back last week. Think it's fair to say that Lancaster sees him as Leinster's long term replacement for Kearney.

Think we might see one of Vakh or Kelly from the A team benching for Saturday.

Rumoured Hugh O'Sullivan to be benching for 9.

You want more quotes? Is there anyone in particular you would like us to quote? Shakespeare? Hook? Churchill? RO'CK? Hayes? Ted? Kearney? TOH?

That's not great for a professional rugby player to be honest, I reckon my kids could nearly bench that.

All of those are acceptable except Churchill of course, none of the others are trolls.

Have you ever listened to yourself? Nah I just don’t think the accent would suit me!

Bernard Jackman has played against the dragons more times in the last ten years than Jonny Sexton.
