Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hamilton is still the fastest man out there. If nothing goes wrong it's Mercedes-Benz race to lose.

Vettel seems to be opening up the gap, even though on older tyres

How many laps can the Ultras do realistically? 30?
Ferrari might wait until lap 40 for Seb

On low fuel should be able to do 30 handy enough.

Mercs suffering on the Softs? Kimi cruised up to the back of Bottas and Hamilton ain't getting away from Vettel.

The gaps in the commentary are gas, hamilton cuts the gap to vettel and all excited, the gap lenghtens and no comment

So far has devolved into the usual Mercedes first row snoozefest.

Traffic plus tyres really starting to hurt Vettel

Vettel losing some time to traffic now

    Quite.

Ferrari are ****ing idiots. Putting Kimi out in that traffic and then with Vettel pitting when he just lost loads of time in traffic. Even if that had been a perfect stop he was behind Bottas.

Procession now to the end me thinks with how dull it’s been so far

Another Ferrari pit stop f**k up

    It's really not Vettel's day

I guess Vettel needs to go easy on hs tyres too

Someone is running a hoover in the back of that Ferrari

    Are Vettels rears blistering already?

Vettels right rear looks blistered already.

Any chance of Vettel winning i think is now gone. Bottas will be sacrificed to hold up Seb as long as possible.

No need to really sacrifice on this track.

Riccardo should have a good run at Kimi before the end.

I just literally fell asleep for about 10 laps.

Woke up - did not miss a thing

Could have done with a proper safety car

Very hard to see how Seb can past on track here. Could be an exciting last 10 laps!

When was the last time that the world championship title went to a driver and the constructors title went to another team ?

I see Hamilton winning the drivers title and Ferrari the constructors.

I switched off long ago. Getting sick of F1 now after 20 years.

I’m always afraid to switch off incase something interesting actually happens. I’ll be 20 years next season. Can’t remember the last time I shouted at the tv. Used to happen every race

Seb has got to try something drastic if he wants 2nd. Doing f all just following him around.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    2008

    Hamilton drivers champion
    Ferrari constructors

10 years on, could be the same result.

Yep, he is on the faster tyres after all. Should be able to breeze by.

Must have some issue with the car.

Has sainz been given a penalty for holding Seb up

As Brundle pointed out before the race the title has been decided in Hungary twice. Some serious rose-tinted glasses.

No just dirty air, tyres looked horrible within a few laps. Ferrari being stupid not letting Kimi have a go.

The official starting graphics stated that the winner of this race hasn't gone on to win the world championship since 2004

He said it in a way that was showing how close the battle is this year and not as bad as previous years when it was already won by the Hungarian race.

He wasn't saying how Hamilton will seal it today.

Exactly, F1 has been a lot worse than it is now.

    Vettels fault, he's silly sometimes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,104 ✭✭✭Whiplashy

That was sloppy. I’ll be amazed if Seb doesn’t have damage

    Collision between Vettel and Bottas

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

On first viewing that looked a bit naughty by Vettel, closed the door on him. Will be interesting to see a few on boards after the race.

Lucky the he hasn't got a puncture in the process.

Bottas' fault, got up on the kerb and went straight on.

Kimi to drop back in case of a time penalty for vettel?

Nah thought it was Vettel's fault first but it was Bottas locking up and going straight on not slowing down as he would have was what caused it.

Does the fact that Seb was ahead before and in the corner not mean it was fair?
Not a great move yes but under the rules fine

Vettel was in front. Looked like Bottas rear ended him
