Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Bottas and Ric touch

    Vettels fault, he's silly sometimes

Completely disagree. Seb had the corner and was a car length ahead. Bottas's fault.

Was that Vettel's fault as well? :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,322 ✭✭✭RoryMac

Look to me that Bottas messed up the corner, got up on the kerb and couldn't make the turn

    Bottas at fault there...

Comedy timing there while talking to Horner on Sky.

    Bottas fault 100%

    Bottas again!!!

Should have kept Horner on the line

  • Registered Users Posts: 681 ✭✭✭Dampsquid

Bottas didnt even try to make the corner with Seb - went straight to the outside, looked like he tried to take seb out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,058 ✭✭✭finnharpsboy

Bottas at fault x2 but he did the job Lewis needed him to

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,378 ✭✭✭HighLine

And Bottas at fault for another incident understeering into Ricciardo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

That Merc is an absolute wreck

Does the fact that Seb was ahead before and in the corner not mean it was fair?
Not a great move yes but under the rules fine

Usually ya shouldn't turn in on someone but it was Bottas hitting the kerb (despite space to his right) then locking up and going straight on/not slowing down that caused it. Usually there'd be enough space.

The Bottas/Vettel incident has been "noted" not "under investigation"
    Whats the difference?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,710 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    “Apologies for Christian Horner’s reaction?”

    Did I miss something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,257 ✭✭✭✭flazio

I don't think there will be champagne spraying on the podium in respect for Marchionne

Seems silly, its hardly a disrespectful practice.

Poor race overall I felt. Vettel was unlucky hitting that traffic at the wrong time and getting stuck behind Bottas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Jeez, both Williams got lapped twice!

Aye, flawless drive from Hamilton, Vettel got bad luck when he didn't need it, which robbed us of a competition at the sharp end. Mercedes get top spot from a race they could have expected to be 5th/6th in, so works out as a great result for them and Lewis, onto the summer break now, and much like last year Mercedes get the luck that helps put some daylight between them and Ferrari!

That was nice between Kimi and his family.

Indeed, maximal a 5 second penalty, so no change

Bottas and Ric still under investigation

No action with the Seb incident. Danny Ric incident still being investigated.

Bottas at fault x2 but he did the job Lewis needed him to

Further proof that Martin Brundle is either senile, just a fanboy in the commentary box or plain and simple an idiot. He was even susprised that Horner didn't even consider blaming Vettel for the collision :D

That said, being Bottas I do believe both collisions to be genuine mistakes.

Bottas not happy in his interview.

Not happy at being called "Wingman"

Not the best but by no means the worst race I have seen. Danny Ric show for most of it. Still amazes me how far ahead the Red Bull is from the other Renault users. Hamilton had a perfect drive and I felt vettel didn't do enough or waited too long to at actually try get past bottas.

Mclaren some credit good strategy clearly a double points finish was on for them but for gear box problems

I was surprised how easily Gasly pulled away from KMag at the start and Hartley seemed quiet comfortable running in the middle of all those Renault's. Toro Rosso seem to have a great chassis for these types of tracks.

Good day for Haas in the end both cars in the points and some day light between them and force India and mclaren in the constructors.

Mentioned on Sky that Sainz stayed in front of Vettel for 9 blue flags in a row, absolutely shocking stuff if it’s the case. Seb lost an absolute ton of time in traffic

4 racers in the points were a lap down.

Alonso came 8th and was lapped by Ham Seb and Kimi.

    Am I right.?

Not Ferrari's weekend at all. They just did not seem to be on form this weekend. First there was the rain in quali and then two slow pit stops and the wrong strategy as well in the race.

Daniel Riccardo drove a great race and had to be driver of the day. Hamilton had it easy. Gasly and Hartley done good too.

It was an ok race but nothing great.

Four weeks till the next race now.

Going to be quiet in here Id say.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Yup Bottas has nobody but himself to blame, he rolls over far too easily when asked.

Ironically, its that attitude that keeps him in a job. The last thing Mercedes wants is someone being competitive with Lewis like Rosberg was.

A couple of days testing is coming up, mainly with secondary test drivers.
    Force India administration.
Once Marchionne is laid to rest what's going to happen to the second Ferrari seat.
Where is Sainz going to go?
No, there is enough to keep us talking.
