After being through T1 screening 4 times in three weeks, twice this week, why one earth do they not operate all the belts ?

There are 14 belts but never more than 10 open at any time, and thats at the absolute peak at 0530 with the scrum back through the boarding pass scanners.

then they seem to close a load of them so you can come through at 0630 and theres only 6 open. Its the height of summer ffs.

No idea why they do this, it benefits the airport to get folks through quickly - more shopping time, more revenue.

T2 doesn't seem to run all the belts either.

Have a look yourselves folks - you'll not see the first four belts in use much.
