Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I do laugh when people take the piss about us having no traffic lights. Really? We don't have to sit at traffic lights waiting. You do!! Truth be told there was traffic lights put in in Manorhamilton lately so there is traffic lights.

The original ones were a pedestrian crossing and they took them away because people in Leitrim are courteous and would let people cross without the need for traffic lights.

Leitrim is tiny so imagine the population density prior to the Famines (yes there was more than one in the 18th and 19th centuries but as census data didn't exist before 1821 the impact isn't recorded)

    not that tiny !

, Armagh, monaghan, longford, dublin, carlow and louth are all smaller

Always heard there's only one set of traffic lights in leitrim

Got rid of them, the cheeky feckers selling them never bothered to tell us we’d need electricity to work them.

Carrick on Shannon is crazy enough on Friday and Saturday nights with every hen party in Ireland taking over the place without another 100,000 people to deal with.

Though I can't imagine the chaos that would be the ballinamore festival in August.

Wasn't it in Leitrim that Peter Bergmann went to disappear (well sort of).

Ok, it was Rosses Point in Sligo - but near enough it.
