How did the journalist get the x-ray?

Unless Mane is playing in goal, I can’t see him missing out.

The Mirror have a pic of him and the thumb has a bit of heavy strapping but nothing that looks like it would stop him playing.

Also, Koeman confirmed there was an agreement in place that VVD would only play the Germany game and ‘he’s ready to play for next week. He takes a rest’

You mean Sterling who is on fire tonight,

    Or even Sturridge :)

Ben Dinnery: Only 3 players have missed games due to thumb injuries since 2012, broken or otherwise. All goalkeepers.

Virgil van Dijk is being 'constantly injected' to help him play through the pain barrier, according to Ronald Koeman.

“Virgil has been playing with two broken ribs for weeks and has been constantly injecting to play at Liverpool in recent weeks.”

If VvD had broken rids, why would Liverpool have released him to the Dutch team? Surely they could have kept him at home in that situation.

Because players like to play for their country

Clubs don't have much choice in releasing players. Even if they claim a medical condition the national FAs are entitled to request the players turn up to be checked by their own medical people.

So he has played alot, hugh intensity football aswell with important CL games ahead.
If I was Klopp I would be looking to get Salah a rest over these easish fixtures.

Liverpool’s main focus is the league. Salah has played less than 4 games (340 minutes) since 22 September, which is nothing.

There is no reason to manage his minutes this weekend.

Where did you see it was the league there focusing on?Hes played alot in the PL and have alot of games coming up.This game coming up looks prime time to give him a rest or start and early sub second half.I think he starts the Belgrade game.

Klopp is never going to publically state that but ask any Liverpool fan (of which I’m one), or read/listen to any Liverpool related content and its pretty clear where the focus is at the moment.

Liverpool also have a midweek off the week after next to rest up (but I think Salah will be on the bench for Red Star anyway).

Suppose we just wait and see.

Howe says King and Fraser both being assessed ahead of the weekend.

    Ankle and hamstring respectively.

Klopp confirms Keita definitely out, the other injury doubts (Salah, Mane, VVD and Milner) are back in training and will be assessed based on how they react.

Wait and see the best approach I think. Tougher fixtures coming up; will he be eased back; how deep will his playing position be; will Bilva's emergence mean he sees less PL minutes (same with Dilva)
