Hi, new fisherman here looking to get started fishing.
My nearest waterway is the Royal Canal around Hansfield and Clonsilla, and I was wondering if fishing in that area is any good. What fish could I expect to catch? By the way, complete novice.
    Thanks in advance,
    Turtpipchim.

Edit: Royal Canal, not Grand Canal (does anyone know how to change thread name?)

Don't know the Clonsilla stretch very well, but you'll find a lot of the Grand Canal support decent fish stocks, best option is to just give it a go, also ask in your local tackle shop, they'll see you ok

Is that not the royal canal. I'd expect roach, perch, but you might also find bream, tench.

It is indeed the Royal Canal, and here I thought I had finally stopped mixing them up .-.
    Thanks for the answer.
