Just wondering if anyone has got carers allowance for to care for someone with schizophrenia? I have tried going back to education to help further my career so I could possibly go back to work but I lasted 2 days and had to give it up because I was needed at home. I am going to try for carers allowance as I have to give up…

I am going to try for carers allowance as I have to give up on the hope of getting a job outside the home.

Speak with your GP (actually, the GP of the person with schizophrenia) and see what they say and whether they would back up your application. They should have a good idea, I would think.
