Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone noticed that when a free is given Hamilton does not explain why it was given.

I say he has no idea himself

We do love a bandwagon. Everyone will be trading in the oars for a hockey stick now.

The Ireland-Spain semi final is due to start in five minutes time. BTW I didn`t realize that Irelands Call was used as the anthem for the hockey team. I always associated it with rugby only.

    It's a bunch of bulls**t.

If the nordies who cannot relate to or respect the flag or anthem want to play internationally they can fcuk off and have their own team.

I have zero support for the Irish rugby, cricket or hockey teams, even though I love the sport of cricket.

Yeah it’s a terrible song, don’t have any problem with the idea though.

Its amazing how fans suddenly emerge for sports they knew nothing about 2 weeks ago. If jumping on bandwagons was an Olympic sport, we would win the gold medal every time.

What should we do then? Ignore the team?

Unlimited rolling subs no extra time goes right to a run in shot out

Well if both Amhran na bhFiann and God Save The Queen were played a certain section of society would be dissatisfied with that too. Applies to rugby, cricket, hockey wherever there is a single team representing the entire island.

    Well, yeah.
Then again, crack on. Nobody is forcing me to watch it no matter how much the blanket coverage is boring me.

It’s the song itself I think is pants, I have no problem with using a different song for the anthem but Ireland’s call is like the winner of a school contest.

Written by Phil Coulter. Hardly a winner of a school contest. Who would you suggest writes a new song to replace it?

We already have one if there was a proper national side.

Bit bad that they only get a days rest between now and the final, fairly intense game physically to play.

RTE couldnt get someone who knows about hockey to commentate so they wheeled out George Hamilton.
