Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Despite being ex directory by eir the "Microsoft Windows" team have lost the plot tonight. Six calls in two hours. I have played along wasting their time and telephone money, threatened the police, pretended to be the police station and my last ditch attempt at being a gypsy and putting a curse on them for life.... whats my next move?:mad:

    Dont answer the phone?

I tell them to hang on a sec as I'm doing something important. Put on some porn, pop the phone next to the speaker and leave them to it.

This will work for any of those nuisance phone calls. Just tell them to hold while you get your credit card

Singing " Wimoweh " loudly down the phone is said to do the trick.

dont answer calls from any +88 numbers. I had a missed call a few days ago, I didn't answer it and a few hours later it was on the news that many people were receiving calls from this number which would cost premium rates to call back.

Strangely enough Belgium number and 0037 number I have family near Belgium this the reason I picked up once

Once you answered the first time, you were added to a viable numbers list, so now the calls won't stop.

Install True Caller and it will block spam calls.

Latvia is the 0037 1 number... thanks google

Keep them on the phone, slowly bring the conversation to another subject, like what they are wearing. It helps if you have recently been naughty. If you’re both male: tell them you can tell by their voice that they want to reconnect with the woman inside their soul, and that you can help them.

Ask them if their parents are proud of the work they do, they usually get insanely angry and hang up and you won't be bothered again.

I've done this successfully, twice with different scammers :D

I'm also ex directory and still get them now and again. The minute they mention computer, I say I don't have one, there's usually a silence and then they hang up.

Will def do this too along with the other suggestions.
The gypsy curse seems to have calmed things down 😂

Tell them that you are a rich African Prince & need to send millions out of the country. Ask can you transfer the money to their account

I just can’t understand where they got the number, I don’t even know the number for the damned thing 🙄

I used to get loads of calls, I rang my provider and complained very strongly :D They stopped for a long time, but I have got the odd one now and again. I think the service providers sell on numbers, I could be wrong, but they can hardly just randomly pick your phone number!

Prefer to playback MP3 loop of the Alien's voice from the 4th dimension movie.

It's a pleasant mix of ancient Sumerian godhead mixed with synthetic robotic shouty shouty.
Followed by the screaming of the wan that was being levitated and probed.

Audio starts here at 0:40 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYAbrh7J0ik ends 1:50.

True story apparently, took place in Alaska a while back.

If they can manage to scam those Pleiadeans via a Win7 update, good on them.

I think it just auto dials random number sequences, they’re gonna get lucky sometimes!

    Exactly.

I usually play along for half an hour if I'm bored

They use a computer to dial random numbers, not known directory numbers.

    Get Lenny

It's just a random set of automated phrases which work exceptionally well. Some of them go on for over an hour

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,914 ✭✭✭glenfieldman

Never answer numbers that are not in your contact list

Never answer numbers that are not in your contact list

If I did that I would be out of business fairly quickly, as would most other business owners.
Either hang up straight away or rip the pi$$ out of them.

Some of those Lenny recordings are pure Gold..
    Great entertainment.

    Get Lenny

Also, if you want to have some fun, listen in on some of the DVR Live Stream for some tips on how to really wind up some Windows scammers :D

Warning: do not try to do what these guys do with your own computer. Everything they do is always on Virtual Machines.

I'm wondering. Don't these guys offer to connect to your computer to "fix" things for you?
Could one set up an infected online server somewhere, let them connect to that and feck up their computer?
    Anyone ever done that?

Oh its been done alright using virtual machines (V.M.s), I think its called ratting.
Plenty of utoob videos of people getting into the scammers system and shutting them down.
I was listening to one live earlier this year where the scam baiters (good guys) got into the scammers system by chance and found a huge bunch of credit card transactions on their system. So they set about refunding as much money as they could before they got shut out, brilliantly done. :D
