Great trailer, just hyped up my enthusiasm to watch it
Really did think it would be more drama than action but the trailer makes it look like it will be more an action series
And 7 of 9, Borg and Data has just bumped up the enthusiasm to warp 10

I think you just wrote the wrong episode name. Future Imperfect maybe? Or All Good Things?

One of those alternate future ones... there were a few.

Going by the snippets of dialogue, there's obviously something of galactic importance about the girl. Did we see her teleport on her own? It overlapped with Picard's "what I saw of her..." speech. Like I said, it's the one part of the trailer I'm not onboard with. It's Abrams era McGuffin

My money's on some kind of Borg enchancements going on there. Maybe the next evolution of the Borg without all the bits of scaffolding and cabling hanging off them.

Ah bugger, you're right! I think it was All Good Things, for some reason I had The Best of Both Worlds on the brain after watching the trailer!

    No wonder i was confused!

But if they are using them fair play to all the alternate timelines getting it right ;)

I hope not- I suspect the Borg as we remember them are gone- and the former drones likely haven’t had a warm reception. One of Picard’s new crew is a Soong android specialist, so my bet would be she’s got a positronic brain.

For that to be really significant, Data would need to still be dead, unfortunately.

Perhaps she’s in danger from anti-AI extremists.

Was that Orla Brady as a Vulcan/Romulan speaking to Picard?

The first thing I thought when I saw the mystery girl was "Is that Ro Laren's daughter?" But that wouldn't really make sense, I doubt there's a Maquis element in this series.

She could be a Borg undercover agent who's forgotten her mission, but feels safe next to Locutus! Might explain the whole 7of9 being involved in the scenario!! :)

I dunno, it looks to me like a damage android, so my thought was they managed to salvage data? Unlikely considering how he went out, but there did seem to be scortch marks on the torso

What about Lore? Isn’t he in a drawer somewhere?

Digging up Lore’s body and hiring a Soong researcher...

He should be. As far as I remember, there's a line at the end of the Lore/Hugh two-parter where Data says he's disassembled him.

Very excited for this. TNG was always my favorite. So happy its not another bloody prequel.

    Looks great.

Up until now it looked like we were getting a Picard and his dog winery program.

Now, I would have watched that, of course, but this looks better.

LOL, I wonder who will make the first post in this forum c. 2020 saying "ST:Picard is all right, but it could have been so much better if only it had more dogs and wine-making"?

    Brent Spiner is 70. :)

When I seen that girl I thought borg Queen initially. It flashes to the cube when talking about her. But after thinking about it for a while and considering what happened to Picard and his family in the films and the theme of him being the last Picard. I’m thinking maybe it’s his daughter. That the borg either Used his dna or from his time as locutus had his sperm frozen and at some stage created her with the queen.

Both Crushers Will make an appearance ;)
Where was this confirmed? Wheaton said yesterday he hadn't been asked. Unless he was being coy?

The trailer looks awesome. My hype level is at 11/10.

Jeri Ryan was cast a year ago, had her parts filmed and not a word leaked. They have a very tight lid on things, so if anyone denies an appearance, that doesn't mean much.

I can't see the Borg doing that myself. As far as they were concerned reproduction was a waste of time and energy. Sure maybe the Queen knows about it and might have considered doing it but the drones would not now.

I would prefer to think that Picard decided after losing his family in Generations and his best friend Data in Nemesis that he had had enough of Starfleet it had taken its toll on him and he decided feck this I am out of here time to go find a woman to settle down to try and have a family of his own to preserve the Picard name.

great to 7 of 9...very unexpected
does Datas face look a bit funny ?

I'd say it's either some sort of prosthetics, or more likely digital manipulation - probably necessary to keep Data looking like Data. As already mentioned, Brent Spiner is 70, so he'll be looking his age. (P-Stew being ageless, of course!!)

On another note, nice to see that the dog is a pit bull - Patrick Stewart is an advocate for the breed, he even fostered one, Ginger, and wanted to keep her but had to have her homed elsewhere as he would have been unable to bring her back to the UK due to a ban on the breed.

That sounds good too but from the trailer at least it seems like he is living a fairly solitary life on that vineyard. It doesn’t look like he has any family with him. Can’t wait to find out though !

Hopefully we get to see the Enterprise-E in this too which should be upgraded by now and maybe a bit bigger too and I am guessing with Riker as Captain of it.

He was captain of the Titan last time we saw him.

True but that's only because Picard was still Captain of the Enterprise.

Now with Picard doing other things surely Riker as would see it as his time to Captain the Enterprise.

Someone else on here mentioned Worf but I think Riker would be better.

The E would be about 27 years old now and unless it's been destroyed for no particular reason, should still be around.

I'm in the minority NOT wanting to see a Captain Worf thingy. For me his arc ended perfectly, a meaningful role with his people, helping to bridge the gap between humans and Klingons. It's perfect for him, and he should be done with Starfleet.

Riker was captain last time we saw him. Easily admiral now. Same with almost any of the senior crew TBH

They crashed the E into the Scimitar, but it was under repairs at the end.

I think Captain Worf isn't likely since his rank is probably terminal for a mission he messed up during the Dominion War.

Admiral Riker taking the Enterprise as his flagship a la All Good Things could work.

Can I get a show of hands for Captain LaForge?

    What was that?

Though.. I'd guess they'd been short of Captains after the War.

Romulans and Breen felt like the ones who got away with least casualties

There are rumors that worf is too be the main villain ! Apparently he has gone fully evil and is manipulating events and people from the shadows....

I think it was a scenario where the Defiant fired on/destroyed a civilian ship under his command at the time, but was later proven to not be his fault.

Edit - Ah, my bad, it was the Jadzia thing Evade mentions

Change of Heart. Worf rescues Jadzia instead of completing the mission and Sisko chews him out at the end and tells him he has almost no chance of ever getting a command of his own.

I think they'd actually have a surplus for a peacetime fleet

Ah I dunno. I can see a Captain Worf. Although I remember an Klingon Govenor Worf. Hard to see him turn on the Federation if it's in a Cold War with the Romulans. We'll know more as the info comes out.

Remember that episode where he bit Councilor Troi and vomited face acid on the doctor ? Worf definitely has a dark side....
