Is there confirmation about Romulus? Have we passed the year it happened in the 2009 Star Trek?

Picard is set about 12 years after the destruction of Romulus.

The count down comics which serve as a prequel focus on events leading up to the supernova.

I'm unlikely to read those comics. I'll probably end up looking for a summary or hope they give the tv audience a kinda gentle idea.

They are free online, pretty cool and short to read.

True, though age must surely be creeping up, even on someone as effervescent as Stewart. Though acting is one of the few professions you'll see octo, or even nonogenarians still work

Indeed, I saw Christopher Plummer give a great performance in knives out-aged 90

Looks like a cross between Discovery and the TNG type 6.

So it's going to be on Amazon Prime internationally now, not Netflix?
    When was that announced?
I seem to have missed that :)

It's hard to track where we are in the Picard story. It's been a long time since the last movie
I'm looking at the comics. Anyway it will be good to see but I presume one has to join Amazon prime ? Im already on Netflix.

I can't get Amazon prime here in the Netherlands. Does anyone know if I can get Picard at all? If not it'll have to be extra legal

We have to use the same in Ireland, I think it's more EU without UK.
You should be grand for Picard so :)

Its set some `19 to 20 years after Nemesis which was in 2379.

There are other ways . I would say drop Netfliks and join Prime unless you want to watch season 3 of Discovery and watch other shows on Netfliks too.

Had to get an Eir line for the FTTH and got PrimeVideo free with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,059 ✭✭✭The_Wanderer

Eir is offering new and existing customers Amazon Prime Video free for a year from sign up date.

Just go to the revalent eir webpage, enter your details and your signed up. If you already have prime you can cancel the subscription and then sign up.

Absolutely perfect timing for Picard as I have Netflix but didn't have Prime until this offer came.

Is this prime video only so? Not full prime subscription for deliveries?

For those are waiting for Picard, but don't follow Discovery, the latest Short Trek, Children of Mars, isn't about Discovery, it's related to Picard. So you may wish to see that one if you would have otherwise passed on it.

Yes, and while I don't want to spoil anything, I will at least say that it doesn't really reveal anything about Picard, as it's light on details.

    Maybe of interest:

Alison Pill is due to be a regular in this.

She's also going to be in a show called Devs which just had it's trailer today:

Can't be stuck in the past forever! They're not going to make a show designed for TV in the 80's/90's in the 2020's... Enjoy your re-runs!

if it's anything like Discovery, which is not a star trek show at all, I won't be watching.

Actually TNG gets better on repeat viewings , so yes i will and yes i do!

This new incarnation is not real Star Trek as the guy in the video details with irrefutable descriptions.

TNG wasn't real Star Trek to TOS fans. Infact anything after the series which you started watching Star Trek "isn't real Star Trek"... so I guess it is circumstantial?

Of course it won't be! it's the 2020's now you know? They won't make a show based on techniques from 30 years ago...
