Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's a very general question of course but think it could prompt and interesting discussion.

    Does that help?

I’m not always up to date on terms but afaik trans women are women who were born men and became women like in the crying game. So I suppose the answer is sometimes but the same answer applies to all women.

The way I see it is...

If some bloke gets turned on by a tranny. Then that's fine. If some bloke gets turned off by a tranny. Then that's also fine. If some tranny gets turned on by straight men too. Hey, guess what? that's also fine.

i would say no. surely the definition of a hetro male is attraction to hetero women? transexual women are not hetero women

Everyone is different, but personally no; a trans woman is not a woman. They are trans. And as someone who is attracted to biological women I wouldn't find them attractive.

That is not to say I don't respect the right of trans people to identify as they wish, I just respect biology more than their feelings.

Nope, not for me and I daresay a large cut of the heterosexual male population would agree.

In my day ~ still, to me ~ a bloke who dressed up as a woman was called a " Transvestite ".

A bloke who had his bits cut off and a hole made in him was a " Sex Change ".

    We knew where we stood.

Bruce 'Call Me Caitlin' Jenner probably has a bigger cock than me. Bruce; You're a Transvestite, mate.

That said? I've seen some 'Sex Changes' ye couldn't dig me out of with a JCB. Who's that one in US? Likes having a pop at the far left. Has had every possible procedure. Looks bloody lovely. Talks like a girl (I believe she had something done with her larynx?)

What ever. Yeah. I'd call That a Woman. I have respect for her.

But, some of these 'Chicks With Dicks' types? While they can Look gorgeous, facially? It all goes to rat sh!t when they flop their tackle out and start talking like Frank Bruno :(

As for the topic. Given the amount of shemale porn, I'd guess it's in quite a few more hetero male fantasies than most men would like to admit.

I've seen ones online (not through porn, on sites like Flickr) that are attractive but the closer you look the more you can spot they are/were male. There's often nothing too obvious like a massive Adams apple but there's something about their facial features that I can't really describe.

Even more surprisingly, considering it wasn't that long ago (1998), the character was originally written as an un-PC joke, and was only supposed to be in it for a few episodes. Roy Cropper would go on a series of disastrous dates, one of which was with a pre-op transsexual who used to be called Harold.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Well technically, Hetro- means "other" or "different". So heterosexual actually meant attracted to people with a different sex to your own. These new "sexes" are kinda making hetro-, homo-, bi- a little obsolete.

Realistically this topic is beyond the comprehension of AF. Considering people can't tell the difference between transvestites and transsexuals.

It depends on the individual really. Like nobody is 100% hetro or homo, everyone occupies some position on the spectrum.

Exactly. I really don’t know how the “spectrum” stuff got legs, but it’s nonsense, at best. Heterosexual and homosexual are completely separate and distinct sexual orientations, there’s no “spectrum”.

No but viewing things as absolute black and white issues is a nonsense. There's always a nuance and a grey area in between. The majority of people (gay and straight) would lean strongly towards one side or another but its an absurdity to assume there's no nuance whatsoever.

Sure, if ye're happy living life in absolutes with everything nicely packaged into boxes without exploring the greys in between them or questioning then the more power to ye. Personally I'd find that incredibly dull and boring but everyone has their own perspective on things, it's what makes life so interesting.

My sexual orientation isn't a choice.

I was just born as a male who likes women..

We really have come full circle when i'm having to explain myself and labelled boring for being 100% straight..

You can just keep telling yourself that, if it makes you feel better.

FFS. Where are some people getting these ideas from? I get that many are not necessarily binary when it comes to sexuality, but the vast majority of men are absolutely (meaning, absolutely, total, 100%) heterosexual, as with women.

What is it with trying to convince straight people that they have to have some kind of shared defective sexuality. I’m a straight man. I’m over 40 years on this earth. I never have had and never will have any sexual urge or interest in another male (of any original or modified physical configuration) as any type of sexual partner. Same goes for women who were not born as women. I wish such people no ill will in life, but get over yourselves, FFS.

I am absolutely normal and I’ve a pain in the hole (fnarr fnarr) with muppets suggesting I’m some sort of statistical outlier through pushing the sort of crap P_1 wrote above. Give it a rest.

Would you find that an acceptable thing for a straight person to say to a gay person?
"I'm sure if you made the effort you could fancy people of the opposite sex. I personally don't think much of your CHOICE to not do so?"

Everyone's individual choice and perspective seems to be so much more interesting and the spice of life when that perspective only undermines one side of any debate on these matters.

I fully believe some people are gay and bi and trans and whatever, and fully respect to their to choose their own way without any form of judgement, but surely we can afford straight people the same respect?
