So, I had an Eir Sim in my HKC Quantum 70, but it has just been disconnected https://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057898150, and I've been advised that the tariff I was on is no longer available.

It was a rolling 30 day bill contract, that I had paid up in advance. It meant v little admin, and until now, I thought no reason for them to cancel my contract. I am still 'discussing' this with Eir, but in the meantime, would you guys be able to advise on the best current option.

    Drifter50 had advised previously:
a ready to go EIR SIM card. This means you only pay for what you use and top it up as required. You must use an EIR SIM as its the only one that is compatible with the HKC technology ( ie not 4G ) Just remember if you don`t pay at least €5 every 6 months EIR will delete the SIM

Is this still my best option?

When going to order an Eir sim, I see"...social networks PLUS 15GB 4G data for just a €20 top up"
If they are now offering 4G is this an issue for the alarm?

€5 every 6 months is good value.
Once the sim iS A 2g SIM it will work in the quantum with a GSM-Q.
You wont be using a 4g connection as it is just sms text usage you will be using.
