Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I honestly just don't know what manager will come in.

Fingers crossed we don’t score then.

    100% not gonna happen.

Woodward won't sack Jose. Not til we can't make 4th, when it will likely become cheaper to bin him.

    Weak from Smalling

How many more managers do we need to go threw before the players take the blame?

"The players" as a collective never take the blame. What would that even look like? Pogba's confession interview last week after the Brighton game? What did it achieve?

It's up to the manager to get his players to perform to their potential and the best managers make the collective team performance better than the sum of it's parts.

If a team is consistently performing below expectations, including when wholesale personnel changes are made the problem lies with the managers inability to get them to perform otherwise you'd have to actually believe that 16-18 players are all choosing to underperform for some reason.

    Which is more likely?

Where were Chelsea when Mourinho was sacked? 13th/14th? And that was well into the season.

Can see something similar this year.

What's happened in this game is not about coaching.

Jones doesn't need to be told to stick to Kane and not get caught under the ball.

Utd defenders don't need to be told to stay in a line when Trippier has the ball and Eriksen makes a run down the wing.

Lindelof doesn't need to be told not to lose Harry Kane with the simplest of double movements.

The pressure is too much for them and they're being found out.

    And...

Does José make Smalling make a fool of himself and allow Moura by him? A competent defender is able to stall from 45 yards out.

“Moura is rapid.” Didn’t know Tyler spoke Dublinese...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,452 ✭✭✭kerplun k

And to think... we could have signed lucas moura last season.

Smalling was terrified there. Only one outcome.

We look like a side who just got promoted into the premier league.
Keep Jose and we're fvcked, sack him and we're still fvcked. Our defense is up there with those record breaking sh1t shows by Derby County and Sunderland.
We can't score and we can't defend, we're a huge club but another couple of results like this and we could be spending a parachute payment on the defenders we need for next season.

    Glazers Out!

Lukaku has to be getting alot of stick tonight..... His open goal chance could have set a different tone for the 2nd half.

    DDG apparently.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,978 ✭✭✭BenK

If you're keeping Mourinho in the summer, you have to back him and the money was there to back him. He clearly wanted players bought for a couple of key positions, as did the majority here.

If you decide not to back him, as Ed and crew decided not to, you can't be surprised with how things are panning out. He should have been sacked in the summer if they didn't trust his judgement.

Shaw and maybe Fred have shown some hope. After that,we have been awful. It's like a different team came out for United in the second half.

I'm not going apesh1t calling for his head for the simple reason that I know it's going to happen regardless. It's just a question of time. How anyone can't see that is beyond me. It's pure head in the sand stuff.
