United were speaking to Jose while LVG was employed.

And Liverpool were speaking to Klopp while Rodgers was there. I'd say it's fairly common. In theory, there's nothing stopping the club hiring a second manager if they wanted to.

I would think Zidane has been made contact with by United officials and sounded out if he wants the job. Can't see anything happening until after Christmas at the earliest though and if results pick up and Mourinho turns us into potential league winners he will be hear until the seasons end. I really want him to be a success here and to turn things around
Swapping managers regularly is no good

Nah that was like moving your new lover into your room while the wife is moved to the spare room.

Funny enough both Klopp and Jose have the same loss rate. Klopp has lost 26 in 130 games for Liverpool and Jose has lost 21 in 104 games.

Bit mad that. I thought neither had lost that many

I don't think your allowed name your thread that, hence the slipping it into a post.

    Uh-oh, the S-word!

How's the ratio pan out for cup finals?

How's the ratio pan out for cup finals?

Klopp got to 3 finals lost three.

Jose got to 2(?) and won both.

Delighted to see Ramos got champions league defender award he fully deserved it he really fought for the cup last year.

Not sure on klopp but Jose definitely has more than two cups, and didn't klopp win a German cup at some point?

Your saying 100% win for Mourinho anyway and 0% win for klopp.

    Can't be right

Edit: I see what your doing. I didn't say just European cups sorry if that was unclear. Knew it didn't sound right cause I think klopp has lost 5 or 6 cup finals in a row or something like that

The initial context for that comment had simply been a serial loser in cup finals rather than just European cups finals as far as I know but I'm open to correction on it

I hate the CL now, to be honest. At least the group stages anyway. Each group is more or less Elite Side, Good team and two victims.

Seedings, certain teams not being allowed in the same groups because of TV rights and political problems.

Competition should be 32 teams in a pot, random draw into groups, no seeding.

Top seeds only, then a free for all would be better.

    Valencia

Group won't be a walk in the park but nice balance between excitement and ease.

I was just talking about their cups for United and Liverpool.

That's a fine group. Should give Juve a game and beat Valencia in at least one of the games against them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

will be great to play Juve. Also no long distances to travel. Games away in Russia, Turkey and Ukraine are not ideal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

Not an easy group. Ronaldo back to OT:P. Might head over to Turin. How hard would it be to get a match ticket at face value to this game?

City the only English team that got a handy group, what way are Napoli and Valencia nowadays ?

United were speaking to Jose while LVG was employed.

The situations aren't really comparable imo, were 3 matches into the season.

And the underdog in all of those bar the Wolfsburg game.

No but the vast majority of time the favourite will win. That's hardly unexpected.

Worst case scenario is 3rd and then we do like a few seasons ago and win the EL. We should honestly be beating Valencia to second spot.

Is that sh*tty micro site that had all united historical results and upcoming fixtures still online since they updated the website? I can't remember what it's called to google it.
