Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Martial has started this half well.

These few mins have been best I've seen of Martial in long time!

    How slow is your stream!

    :pac:

Hard to say with mine, but Neil Webb is about to come on

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭Fuhrer

Ive counted four times that either Rashford or Martial were making a great attacking move only for the ball to bounce up randomly off the turf and ruin it

How was Lakaku offside? The defender kicked it straight back to him

There's a rule about being ahead of the keeper in those situations that counts as offside. Not sure of the specifics.

But Lakuku was the last United player to touch the ball, hes the line

after the first couple of matches I seen from Fred his corners were decent but they are ****e tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,225 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

There is almost zero understanding between that front three. Maybe 4 or 5 times tonight, a player has passed in behind when the other has checked his run or vice versa.

    Jaysus take off Rashford

  • Martial improved, I'd say leave him on

Fellani on for Fred I'd say as he's on a yellow

Sanchez for Rashford I hope too

I think 2 nil is flattering in fairness.

We haven't looked like a team going forward the front 3 or 4 players haven't been on the same wavelength at all.

Anything that's happened has been individual.

Rashford should be fined if he gets within 10 yards of a setpiece.

  • Get in game over

    Assist Pogba and Martial goal

    Good night

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    That goal was super.

Martial must of woke up at half time.

Nice pass from Shaw to Pogba.

Good run and pass from Pogba.

Martial did well to stay onside and score.

    Delighted for martial.

Take pogba and lukaku off now..

Thought Lindelof has done well tonight considering we're under a fair bit of pressure.

Lads I doubt any of us could of predicted it during the summer.

But how ****ing good is it to have Shaw on form.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Toobz

Freds had a great second half.

Looking like a liquid front 3 by the end there. Really hope we give it a few games.

His attitude has been brilliant. Hope he keeps it up for everyone's sake!

  • Good management from Jose leaving Martial on.

Still pissed with Martial though, he needs to produce when it's 0-0 not 2-0

All summer, I was thinking thank god we aren't signing Alex Sandro :D:pac::pac:

Seriously though, fair play to Shaw, would love to see him to well and cement the position.

Why not take off Lukaku and leave Rashford on.

Keeping clean sheet at this stage is huge now. Leaking goals so far this season.

    Pogba superb... Motm

    At least martial improved

Yeah but resting Lukaku and making sure he doesn't pick up an injury is also a good shout.

  • Luke Shaw is such a threat

We have missed that type of threat out wide for so long

    Please god stay fit

That's fine and all but Rashford has contributed 0 all night

Lukaku has been winning balls and knock-downs all night and is assisting in the rest of team potentially getting more

    He's fit as a fiddle

Motm for me but I'd imagine pogba will be given it.

We were 3 up. GIve Rashford a chance. Lukaku has played practically all games so far and Rashford will miss games through suspension
Also Lukaku has been average enough tonight

Your still bank on lukaku doing a better job for the team than Rashford. What's the problem with taking pogba off and giving him the rest?

Giving another young player valuable experience.

Quality performance tonight, Martial was excellent.

  • Clean sheet
    3 goals
    No injuries hopefully
    Shaw excellent again
    Dalot was decent
Fred was decent too once he didn't have to cover for Martial
    Pity about Rashford being atrocious

Great start to our champions league campaign.

Plenty of positives from that game. Clean sheet to boot. We have a nice run of games coming up. Confidence is key. #GGMU

Good win, Shaw MOTM but Pogba will get the headlines. Dalot looked comfortable in his first start, Lindelof and Mike didn't have much to do. Fred better in the second half.

YB aren't great and Juve & Valencia will be sterner tests but a 3 nil win away from home in the CL is always a decent result.

You must have been watching a different game. Easily our best attacking player tonight.

    I don't believe you

    He really wasn't

It was quite a Martial performance actually. He got a goal and in months to come people will point to the stats and the goal record and question why he isn't an automatic first choice.

But the actual performances themselves don't match that narrative. No manager could have that game on in the background and consider Martial first choice after a performance like that.

And so it has been for years now.

Happy with that 3 0 few good to very good performance s. Young boys had an awful lot of chances though we will need to be tighter against Juve.

I've read it all now. Apparently he was our best attacking player

We were good value for it in the end despite the early wobbles, mata should have gotten a fourth. Good night overall with that shower losing to Lyon. Hopefully we're in a bit more of a groove by the time we play Juve.

    Glazers Out!

What was wrong with his performance tonight? He started the game slow, as you'd expect for a player not in the first team and gradually grew into it. He was brilliant in the 2nd half. Starting moves, creating chances, relieving pressure on the defence, and got a well deserved goal.
