If Jose goes, Woodward also needs to be moved off football decisions.

It wud be three managerial appointments and no progress made.

Woodward should be nowhere near football decisions in the first place

Glazers won't sack him, making them too much money on commercials.

Best we can hope for there is a new position (DoF) to somewhat remove Woodward from the football side, which I think will come around the same time as Jose is replaced whenever that is.

This is why the club is going to slide into a bigger slump. No interest in the game itself, the thing is his deals are predicated on success of some sort on the pitch.
We didn't have fans in South East Asia in the 1980's, we have those fans because we won titles. Right now we're turning into Leeds United.

    Glazers Out!

Second half will tell everything here. If the players don’t break their bollox and start pressing the ball and really putting pressure on that means there’s no reaction and he needs firing.

That's the problem with playing a team of units, they are just not able to press as effective as smaller players.

Is Herrera or Pereira on the bench? Maybe bring them on to try press.

    Sacking/not sacking Jose is irrelevant.

United won’t win the league/CL in the next 5 years, get used to the mediocrity.

Woodward surely needs to go too but it won’t happen, the club has been ran terribly on the football end for a long time now, it was only a matter of time before this would happen and Jose is just unlucky to have been in the seat.

If we had Zidane the last 2 years he would have been sacked too, the first club Mourinho has failed at, very telling.

    I'd replace Leeds with Arsenal

Sufficient if a top 4 place is achieved

    Checks all the commercial boxes

    His payout is £20m+ apparently

The long-term negative impact of keeping him on will run into multiples of that.

Missing out on top 4 might be a very real prospect with the direction the team is currently heading in. They might be forced to sack Jose sooner rather than later.

It is extremely unlikely we will be able to get back into this game.

    Devastating :(

We won't make the top four. We labour against the likes of West ham and wolves. We're relegation candidates if we keep playing like this

    Glazers Out!

You've been unlucky with both goals but it was a very rudderless first half from United imo. Get one back early and you'll rattle them.

Agreed. As poor as we've been it's an offside goal and a freak deflection that has us 2 down. Similar to midweek where we would likely have beaten Derby but for a 1 in 100 free kick.

    When it rains it pours.

Even if Jose gone and Woodward moved off football decisions this is still a 2/3 year fix. Sitting on our hands this summer wasn't going to bridge fair gap to City.

20m to get rid is peanuts even if it did paint the club in a very poor light. Sometimes you just need to make a bold move and early enough for it to work.

Whatever happens it's not going to be drawn out.

Please let this be the end of his reign.

That corner wouldn't even be seen on a school playground ffs.

Apparently Chelsea were 16th after 16 games when he got sacked. That is a genuine relegation battle he was in during his last season. Same could happen here.

If I was a rival fan, I'd be horribly conflicted over whether it's better for us to salvage something and prolong Mourinho's stay, or lose and enjoy more short term misery from United fans.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Hargreaves played in midfield himself and he sees how bad the movement is up front with there being 0 options.

I think Pogba was folded there in the corner but the only thing he could of done was hoof the ball out of play.

Jose is going to take the captaincy of them.

Not before publicly picking an argument with them based on false information. :)

Yeah, but they support their international team much better than they do their club team. Why is that?
