When arnautovic was rolling on the ground trying to break up the rhythm of the game I knew he'd score within 10 minutes of it. Horrible type of footballer.

    Glazers Out!

Need to sort out the defence
Need to ship Pogba and Sanchez out.

Need to realise Mata is arguably one of the most creative number 10s available and actually play him there with Lukaku, Martial and Rashford ahead of him

Any worry sacking Mourinho could give Pogba dangerous level of power at the club. I suppose a new strong manager could control it but equally I think the perception could be I better get on Pogbas good side or there will only be one winner?

This is the season when we finally stop being seen as a big club.

    Glazers Out!

McTominay still thinking he is in a back 5, he is so far right of where he should be. It's not even his fault.

He is not a CB, shame on Mourihno for playing him there.

If only we had tried to improve the centre backs this summer

Or José could could pick actual centre backs for the centre back positions, for example Bailly, who he brought in himself, and who seems nailed down on the subs' bench these days?

  • Enjoy the day folks
A few beers now and avoid football is the best alternative

Also avoid this thread as I suspect it will be a mess in about 10 minutes :P

    so ****ing lazy by Young

    awful awful play

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Pogba and Martial need to follow Mourinho out the door, along with Lindelof, Jones, Sanchez and probably a few others.

This is at least a 3 year fix probably 5.

why is lingard not even on the bench? Darmain on the bench is a joke

Like Ashley Young still playing in our first IX. It’s embarrassing.

This all needs to end today

When Mourinho gets the sack, it won't be because of his relationship with Pogba. It'll be because he has a team of expensively-acquired players playing relegation-level football.

It's been a poor performance but you've had no luck all game and played a team who've clicked in recent weeks. If I were a United fan I'd worry about how little fight and how much spite Mourinho seems to have in recent weeks/months though. Off topic, West Ham have a truly dreadful, soulless stadium.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Agreed, however I would be reluctant to sell martial just yet. I'd like to see ow he gets on under a new manager, he's young enough to adapt and learn. He also has the professionalism to mostly keep his head down and not create additional unneeded public drama for the club.

The loss will be over shadowed because Jose took off Pogba,no matter if he was brutal or not the media will just say that he was taken off

This whole saga is ruining the club and has to be having an effect on the squad

One of them has to go.

    Season's a write-off before reaching October.

Need to begin the rebuilding phase ASAP and Mourinho's obviously not the man for that. Step one is giving him his marching orders.

So sad watching my life long team being destroyed like this.whatever about mourinho and pogba the whole board at Utd knew after last season the team was seriously lacking in certain areas. This was not addressed and challenging this year for domestic or European trophies was not going to happen. I think the club has become more a money making machine through advertising than a club for the supporters. What's happening now mightnt be a bad thing in the long run.

The only thing I've taken from this games is one piece of commentary from Hargreaves.

"The United players are so lucky that they have Pogba/Mourihno to take the fall every week"

  • Site Banned Posts: 20,685 ✭✭✭✭Weepsie

I'd be starting with players first. They've been allowed down tools at the slightest bit of criticism and have shown a tremendous amount of unprofessionalism since Ferguson has left.

They have a horrendous attitude, bit so long as they get clicks and follows and apologize online they're fine.

Pogba should never have been brought back. His attitude stinks, and no world class player should need as much accomodation as he apparently requires to get the best of them.

You hire Mourinho knowing what he'll want, how he likes to play and what he expects from his players. Then you go and sign a load luxury players based on their commercial value for the club and because they'll get another 100k retweets.

Woodward has an awful lot to answer for, and he's allowed the likes of Raiola have far too much influence at the club whether anyone sees it or not.

    It's the whole team

    They seem lifeless and dead

Like a bunch that don't want to be there

Whatever mojo Jose had looks to have deserted him. He has to go . Slow ponderous play especially in midfield Lukaku looks about 35.
By going against uniteds fast attacking tradition he had to win everything,

Yes, I am as aware as any other member of the public with internet access is aware. I feel that situation was a once off and a since then he has acted as a professional, at the very least publically anyway.

I definitely wouldn't be selling him just yet.

This is also a bit of a myth.

Man utd were a very pragmatic team for at least the last 5-10 years of Ferguson's reign. They could grind out wins as often as blow away teams. They were not nearly as free flowing as romantics like to believe.

Jose should have been gone the second it became clear in the summer than he and Woody had conflicting visions for the club. Woody should have shown decisiveness at the time, didn't, and we are paying the price.

I do agree the players are an issue.

But we aren't a bottom half team, and even if we aren't a league winning team either, we are being humiliated by relegation fodder. Jose is not getting anywhere near the best out of the players.

Same as I said last week; as a Jose fan, I'd rather we get rid of him now, give the new manager time to see which players bounce back and which don't, and let him go into next summers window with a fully developed game plan.

If United pay Mourinho off he’ll have received €40-50 for being sacked from clubs over the years..... now that’s a specialist in failure!

Hargreaves said something pivitol during that game and spoke a lot of sense.
So many players are lucky that this pogba/jose thing is going on as it takes away the criticism of how ****e their playing.
Think a lot of people seen this result coming, this will be a crazy thread today!

Theres alot mote wrong at the club than mourinho. There doesnt seem to be any direction or structure or even coaching present.

If your a world class manager youd be staying well clear of it.
Moyes, van gaal and mouriho. Every manager that comes here is a joke after a few months.

Ferguson must have been doing some job.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

West ham are a poor team who give up a lot of chances, their expected goals conceded is about 2 goals a game, while they have switched formation in the last 2 games I think our style of play is much more suited to breaking it down then Chelseas was on sunday.
I think we will have lots of joy down the left wing against an aging lb and a lw who doesn't like to do much tracking back and if they are without Arnie they haven't much of an attacking treat.

If I'd to make a bold prediction I reckon Lukaku gets 2 goals

an aging player who is probably motm :o

Yup. The board not following through on their decision meant this season was a write off.

God help any new manager. Doomed.

Whatever you can say about the quality of some/many of the players at the moment, we are clearly performing well below the sum of our parts.

The blame for that has to lie with Jose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,793 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Would be a total joke if Mourinho was given the boot at this stage. It's clear that Pogba is just a poisonous influence in the club and that it's him who needs gone.

We were never winning this game.
Our record away to WH is very poor.
They’re one of those sides who will run thru brick walls whenever United come.

And add in the circus revolving round us the last week.

    Depressing stuff.
I don’t know where we go next. We’re a bit of a shambles right now

It's Jose guys. What was that formation? Playing McT a young CM in defense who fails to drop and pick up Arnautovic for the third and probably at fault for the first too(offside aside). Outnumbered in midfield thanks to the formation. Pogba frustrated the few times he tries to get things going because there's no movement ahead. All horrible, yes the players are culpable too but it's all down to Jose with his clueless tactics and formations, team selections, personal vendettas against players(Bailly, Pogba, Shaw, Martial, etc).

Mourinho is the common denominator for trouble though if you look at his past history.

    I agree.

Jose has made mistakes and could of done some things better but The club effectively set the ball in motion for Jose’s decline in the summer by failing to sign players the team needs.

I find it unamusing that people are encouraged that the same ceo who has presided over the 6 years of underwhelming success will be the one leading the changes. If the club is serous about succeeding on the field to match its off field successs Jose shouldn’t be the only one out the door....

More than anything, I hate that the utterly lazy "Third season syndrome" narrative will grow stronger because of this.....
