Some real bite in this game for whatever reason. Don't expect to see both teams finishing with 11

Dr Gea distribution is very poor lately

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,481 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

.... Feel like we got very lucky there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

    Stone wall peno

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

If Lingard had any kind of end product and Lukaku would finish the ball we’d be out of sight.

And look Phil Jones trying to ruin it by giving away a penalty.

But Jose should just do some attacking drills

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,851 ✭✭✭Julez

Love that from Fred, our CM making a good run forward, good feet and taking a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,236 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

    Looked like a penalty. Lucky.

    Jones brainless as usual.

Why does smalling show him inside with matic covering outside and Jones chasing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,481 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

That should have been a pen. I'd be furious if we didn't get it.

    Hopefully we capitalise.

    Fred looking good.

Because our defenders make errors of judgement way too often.

Come on Pogba, get onto the match ffs! Switch the fck on

Valencia, where attacks have gone to die since 2013

    Fred's corners seem dangerous.

Having someone who can take corners is worth a celebration in itself

How is he not booking Alli there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,885 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Never seen spurs look so open , Dembele and Dier are way to far apart and have been awful ,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

The Fredi Kanoute lookalike up top for Spurs is dangerous with his pace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,281 ✭✭✭limnam

Pogba continuing where he left off last week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,236 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

What will Pogba's excuse be this week? Sick of him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

Not good enough there from Pogba, sometimes you just gotta bang it down the wing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

How are we still playing Jones and Smalling 4 managers later?

Herrera is a genius at the dark arts takes Moira out and gets across to cover

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,216 ✭✭✭✭RobbingBandit

Kane not doing much Spurs missing that edge from Son we lack serious finishing fred seems up for it Lukaku still rusty only 1 goal scored vs Spurs hope he doubles that tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,296 ✭✭✭fatherted1969

Shaw playing very well. Offering a lot more than the opposite wing

    No mangers were backed.

    He got zero support, none

He waited to long he had options, chose not use them.

    Options cut off.

    Loses the ball.

We are getting very very lucky in defence. Some very poor tracking of runs.

Ali chance, eriksen chance, Moura peno.... Some very poor defending and luck that spurs haven't punished us.

Strange, no players usually get better under jose

    And Pogba am absolute liability.

I've gone from excitement of what he might do on the ball to simply hoping he doesn't cost us a goal.

Whoever was if the left back position was open and he ignored him.

    What?

He has been excellent, 1 awful free but in general very good and looking to control the game

    Decent first half.

    Only disappointment was Pogba.

    More heart in ander's socks

And hoping he doesn't get the ball. A trick or two and lost. At least Sanchez attempts to pass :pac:

Herrera has been great. I'd say he's a managers dream ie puts in a hard shift and follows instructions without moaning or sulking.

I think Shaw, Fred, lingard have been decent, with Shaw in particular having a I'd game.

Pogba, Lukaku and Valencia have been poor. The rest have either been average or had little to do.

    You're watching a different game.

    Horrific.

    Dodgey "side kicks"

    keepy uppy with himself.

Giving the ball away in dangerous areas.

    What's he done well?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,481 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Whoever was if the left back position was open and he ignored him.

Had the chance to play it back, feinted away. Had the chance to play it forward, hesitated. Had the chance to roll it back. Put his foot in the ball. Could maybe have passed it to valencia to boot it, put it out for a throw.

Valencia should have come forward to offer a better line, but the was all on Pogba.

Good and bad things going on there in first half we looked solid one minute then ropey the next.

Shaw has been great so far really happy with him this season so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭BenK

Encouraging half from Shaw. Like the look of Fred too.

We've looked very open at times in that half though.

Smalling on the ball is nearly the same as giving possession away. He either panics or gives it back to De Gea who has no option but to kick long.

I wouldn't start sparking up the barbecue and breaking into a few cans just yet. It's only been 4 years. Starting the season in a promising fashion, no more no less

I wouldn’t blame Martial if he is annoyed that Pogba got a World Cup medal and he didn’t because they both operate at the same level of shítness

    What's he done well?

Bar the free and the one he put over the sideline where he got no support when has he giving it away?

I’m not getting into a Pogba argument because I genuinely think people have their minds made up before a ball is kicked.

    Gary Neville talks some bollocks.

"Fastest and most intense United have played in 6 years. It shocked us."

Jones was blessed the ref didn't give a peno.

You mean when he had options and chose not to use them, then got closed out?

Listen, you've no idea how badly I want pogba to come out and run a game.

And cursed Lukaku had an absolute shocker on his chance.

Not much you can do with Jones with that level of stupidity, his reaction alone was worth a penalty.

Our problem is Lindelof is the alternative.

If only we had been in the market for a centre back

Kane, Aguero, Salah and Aubameyang probably score 2 of Lukaku's 3 good-great chances that half. No killer instinct.
