Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

3 match ban for Jose kicking a bottle?

He can serve it in the stands with Poch, as he did it in the first half as well :)

Striker and CB needed to bring us to the required levels in those positions.

    Lindelof, Smalling, Jones.

Not in a million years can any football person believe they're good enough for Utd.

    Wow.

Woodward does, and in the end that is all that matters at United

Who is the defensive coach? Do we have one?

This really is shocking, it’s clear mourinho has lost the players or he’s just sapped every last bit of confidence with that moany face!

    Ridiculous.

United have been very good tonight.

    We’ve just been sucker punched.

    And Lindelof is a charlatan.

How many more managers do we need to go threw before the players take the blame?

A part of me wants to see an "attacking" manager brought in sooner rather than latter, so that when the players STILL under-prefrom, we don't waste another summer going "But teh players are good enough".

You only throw the ones that do bad. We had two before the latest. Not hard to figure out.

Final ball and finish has been just as frustrating as the defence.

Pogba trying a no look pass at 2-0 down says it all.. ffs

20 minutes into 2nd half: jose lost the players.

    wtf
I don’t agree, I think every players pride will make them put in a first twenty minutes like that

    At least one more.

Now, watch and be amazed as Mourinho stops Pogba and his crew from stepping up to take control of this game or battling in search of a win.

You would love to see how some of these players would of performed under Ferguson.

Never seem to have enough bodies forward when attacking here. Sanchez seemed to be facing about five guys on his own there...

Defensively we've been on the edge all night and punished in the second half.

A better application than last week in midfield and up front but defensively suspect both halves.

    What about the LB/two CB's RB/RW/LW/CM/FW

250-300m a year and a new manager away from been decent.

    How the mighty have fallen?

Very good in the first half without bringing a decent save from Lloris. It was a bit better but not a lot, and our weaknesses in defence and attack have been exposed. Spurs are the better team

Get embarrased, then throw your manager under the bus for the next 70?

    Interesting theory

I'm criticising the centre backs all game and will continue but two games in a row now where Lukaku misses sitters at 0-0 which would/could have changed the results entirely.

Edit: Alderweireld with a performance that will hopefully make Old Trafford turn on the ......

What's happened in this game is not about coaching.

Jones doesn't need to be told to stick to Kane and not get caught under the ball.

Utd defenders don't need to be told to stay in a line when Trippier has the ball and Eriksen makes a run down the wing.

Lindelof doesn't need to be told not to lose Harry Kane with the simplest of double movements.

The pressure is too much for them and they're being found out.

You only throw the ones that do bad. We had two before the latest. Not hard to figure out.

Half of these players either aren't good enough or just don't care.

You can pull apart so many aspects of the 3 managers we have had since Fergie but the attitude at the club won't change.

It's a real shame we've made such terrible defensive mistakes tonight as we've actually played well besides. Shaw has had a very good game.

The media and everyone else would still blame the manager. The players once they get to a certain level are above everything they have all the power.

From the footballing side of things, when you consider how financially healthy the club is and the prestige, status and history of the club, is there a worse run club in world football?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭Quandary

Have to say I've been very impressed with Shaw tonight. He's one of the very few in red giving a good account of himself in this half.

There has only been 1 positive for us so far this season and that's Luke Shaw.

Woodward didn't do enough in the summer.
    Mourinho isn't doing enough.
    The players aren't good enough.
The players make too many mistakes or lack quality.

I wish people would stop trying to frame it as the fault of any one group.

Every level of the club is a mess and failing to one degree or another. Everyone is culpable.

No player could have complaints if binned off.
Mourinho could have no complaints if binned off.
Woodward us the only one that could, cause commercial success is likely his main KPI.

Yeah I was thinking of them too but do they not have money troubles of some sort? We're up there anyway.

With the money that has been spent and the glaring holes that are still in the squad/team it's depressing really.

Put my daughter to bed at HT. Came back to Utd 2 down, what the hell happened?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

I have no doubt if we don't score tonight that Mourihno will be sacked.

I honestly just don't know what manager will come in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,156 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

And people honestly wonder why Jose doesn't just go all out attack, with the basketcase backline we are stuck with.

Its ironic the one player everyone thought had the worst relationship with Jose last year is the one this season who is absolutely busting his gut.
I wish people would stop trying to frame it as the fault of any one group.

Similar thought, people keep defending it by only focusing on a single game. And it will be done here too. "Oh we weren't bad, it was just a poor 5 minutes, otherwise we did well!"
