Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So Sinn Fein think nobody should take more than average industrial wage and those over it should pay an even higher tax rate than they currently do.

Yet they are in full support of this scammer who is taking over €50,000 a year in benefits?

That's one heck of a two faced policy

This. Say that to them at the door steps and watch them squirm. They are utter populists who are trying to clean up in social welfare dependant communities. They offer nothing to the taxpayers of the country but misery.

Why would she though, you and I buy socks for her kids and will continue to do so whatever the count is. She knows it, he knows it and the kids know it too.

    I don’t think she knows it, genuinely I don’t.

I think she is from the same ilk of Sinn frin where a magic money tree exists.

Again everyone is blaming is Sinn Féin (a party that has never been in power from a national level) when the whole reason people like Cash can leech is thanks to the policies of Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, Labour, Progressive Democrats and various Independents (Healy Rae, Lowry etc) buying the electorate for the past 90+ years.

If this was 2008/9 Fine Gael would be calling for Dick Roches/John Gormelys head. Enda Kenny would be front page of the independent beside Cash calling Fianna Fáil and the greens all manner of stuff and she'd even be brought up on stage at their ardfheis . Well into the crash ( budget 2009) Social Welfare rates were increased from €197 to €204 at a time we couldn't afford it.

Ask yourself what party was in the opposition benches at this time screaming for a higher increase? What party actually criticised the fact that child benefit received no increases? Remember this was in the midst of an economic crisis. Richard Bruton IIRC. You can find all dail debates/speeches online (that's if they haven't taken them down again, Lowry FG defence ones from 1996 have mysteriously vanished)

Again it's akin to the old woman in rural Ireland who was sold a product from eircom that she didn't need but sticks with them because they were once Telecom Éireann.

Want things to change? Stop voting for FG/FF/Labour/SF. Definition of madness doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. FG/Labour could've tackled this in 2011 with their majority but didn't. Why didn't they? They even gave her special status ffs that's pretty much gave her immunity from criticism in MSM without being called out for discrimination.
I am continuing the policy pursued in recent years of increasing Child Benefit rates significantly. In this Budget, I am providing for an increase of £1 per month for first and second children, and an increase of £5 for third and subsequent children with effect from next September. The new rates will be £30 per month for each of the first two children and £39 for the third and other children.
A mother with three children will therefore get £99 a month or £23 per week while a mother with four children will get £138 a month or £32 per week tax free for her children compared with £90 per month or just under £21 per week three years ago. This amounts to a 50 per cent increase which is of direct and real value to mothers and children throughout this country, particularly large families.

But you see these two benefits are there for the genuine people who need them and for that I applaud our government, it does care about people in need.

It’s not the governments fault when people abuse it and take advantage.

This cash one is a criminal and is a scam artist and Sinn Fein can’t stop referring to her to blame the government.

It’s pure populist nonsense but this is the type of people Sinn Fein want to vote for them.

ok fine........so who do we vote for? fg are supposed to be centre right, they are the most right sided party we have, and look at what they have become, therefore there is no option to vote for the kind of welfare reform ordinary decent hard working people are looking for.

The Cash one has blonde hair. Your one in the pic has black hair so I'm guessing it's Mrs Cash husband's bit on the side. And for all we know she may be a contributing member of society.

I really don't understand what she's doing with the text-speak like spelling.

I thought the point of text speak was that you could type words faster on old phone keys but she spells some words the same lenght & longer in her speak that the original word.. just spelled wrong. So she's making her posts take 5x as long to read for no reason because they aren't even faster to type that way.

It's the only place you'll find anyone making sense. In my occupation I see many reviews of people's finances from all different areas in ireland and all different occupations for retirement products and life cover etc and I'll tell you now the vast majority of people earn well under what this excuse for a woman takes from the tax payer.
Yes there are people working in very specialised jobs in IT finance and science taking home more but most workers are not. In fact there's a huge glut of people in the 30-40k range and this Cash woman is taking 50k according to this thread some posters have worked out.

How in the world is that right and proper?? And she still gives out and uses her kids as pawns making them sleep in a Garda station waiting room for sympathy. She won't get any from me anyway. She's a disgrace but ultimately it's the system that's broken I take any benefits I can too but there's not many available to me!

I was on the dole for a few weeks once in between jobs as I was delayed in getting a licence to start new job so I toddled down to the dole office to sign on.....miserable horrible place it was. Full of mainly degenerates fighting with the staff and sitting in a horrible waiting area. It would be more pleasant doing a bit of work

Doesn't matter where it goes. It's paid for by someone else. 12k a year from me goes to my bank manager's family. But I earn it.

A genuine question, what do people actually want to do with someone like Cash?

Remove all supports and benefits she gets, an uneducated woman with 8 children, with links to criminal activities?

    Which is more likely,

she or her husband say "Well, I should go and get a job that pays a good wage, and be a productive member of society!"

    Or

They think "Right, I need to make money, what nefarious act will make me the most cash?"

It's nice to dream, they'll pick the first one, but catch yourself on. Is it **** on everyone else, **** yes, but the better option is to begrudgingly do it, and ensure that less future Cash's take that path.

FYI, I'm all for a bit of reform to welfare payments, but let's be realistic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,042 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

We can't do anything about people like Cash now...that horse has already bolted. They will unfortunately need support and the states money.

But our Government should be making positive changes now, and bringing them in slowly over the next decade or two, to discourage people from choosing a life like this, and insisting the taxpayer pay for scumbags who have no interest in work and who can see how to play the system for their advantage.

Take away the ability to play the system.
