My 2cents, even if it is a little late to the thread...

I've been a a very similar situation to you before - My wife is from the Philippines, we me in a similar way. It was never intended for things to develop, but they did, and a number of years later we're living together here.

What I did was make a number of trips out to the Philippines, and she made one here too over a period of years. We eventually got married, and she subsequently came here on a work visa.

The only thing for you to do here is to go there yourself and meet up with her, it'll be far easier than getting her to come here at least initially. It's easy enough to get flights to Manila, we've usually flown through Dubai with Emirates but there are direct flights to Hong Kong from Dublin with Cathay Pacific now for a shorter trip there.

Go there, and meet her, that'll tell you all you need to know and whether there's a future or not. If you're nervous about travelling off into the Provinces in rural parts of the Philippines, then get her to come to Manila and meet her there. Nice hotels are extremely cheap in the Philippines, as is public transport.

Long term, realistically marriage is the only option to bring her here as others have said, but forget about that for now. Go out there and meet up with her first.

quote-pictures can be used here along with some skype screenshots and copies of your plane ticket).-end quote.

So obviously that would be pictures of us, and i guess screenshots of texting we did before in meeting in person. I assume that screenshots of facebook messenger texts would suffice, instead of skype.

quote-You could also consider trying to get her UK visa as people on a UK visa can travel here without needing an Irish visa-end quote.

Is it easier to get her a uk visa?

That isn’t true - a UK visa does not entitle you to an Irish visa, and they do check. I live in London and know a guy with an Albanian girlfriend who has a visa to live and work in the UK, they booked a weekend away in Ireland but she was refused entry at Dublin airport because she didn’t have a visa for Ireland. He was raging but to be fair they are two different countries.

This is true. My brother used to have a Thai girlfriend in Northern Ireland and she was risking her visa any time they came to visit us in the south.

I've looked into this extensively and it does work as we've used it when one of my wife's friends visited us, someone with a UK short stay visa can be allowed travel to Ireland without getting a Irish Visa.

    http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Irish%20Short%20Stay%20Visa%20Waiver%20Programme

However, this is only for certain nationalities that are listed in the link above, and unfortunately for OP the Philippines isn't one of those so that rules out this option for him.

It only works for short stay Visas, if your friends gf was on a short stay visa she would have been able to travel south with no risk as Thai citizens are on the exemption list.

That's nice, lovely you could get the time to take such a long holiday. Are you together full-time in Ireland now? There is a good Filipino community in Ireland and those who want to tend to do well here

That's right. Go to Capel street. I sometimes feel like I'm in Manila, not DublinðŸ˜ðŸ˜

I think steve66 is either a troll or working to promote philipino prostitutes and their tours advertising in Irelands Own. Must get onto them about that. Isnt prostitution illegal for the buyer here in Ireland now?

We exchanged some PMs before. He's most certainly a genuine guy. I'm glad he made it over to meet his lady. I wish him the best

    Mod note:

JustAThought, your post is below the acceptable standard here. In addition, if you have a problem with a post, report it - do not call it out on thread. Please keep this in mind when posting again in future.

As for this thread, I think it's time to call it a day.
