I'd like to apologise to all Boards.ie users for the site being down so long. I was assisting them with the maintenance and I split a can of Coca-Cola on the main server!

Why they had you helping them I’d like to know. Sounds like you’re from the dark ages. Everyone knows servers are now virtual and exist in the clouds. Coca-Cola can’t affect them anymore. It was down because of the drought and the lack of water to create the clouds.

It has been a strange 24 hours. I had to interact with real people. I haven't heard terms like snowball, entitled, click bait etc all day and wait for this.... No one was offended!

You clearly don't understand my point do you?

Most work places have the dopey colleague and I am the moderator who plays that role here.
Don't take my threads seriously and posts unless I put Mod Note This is how a mod get attention.
I always moderate to the best of my ability regarding deleting abusive posts and replying to PM's and closing threads started by troll accounts.

Playing up a "I'm THAT guy of the mod team" persona doesn't cut it I'm afraid. Most people here aren't children and expect better from the mods given the standards they hold the user base to - which is also why so many were annoyed by your "AH Day" stuff.

If you want to post every random thought that comes to mind then by all means work away, but it's at odds with your role as a Mod of this forum IMO.

Yes, a click bait title in After Hours. What a rare event.... You know - and this is radical - that you can just ignore him/her and move on, just as you can stay out of threads you're not interested in? Loads of people try and be funny; some succeed, some fail. They're both generally better than miserable grumps who would rather put them down than move on to a thread they've more interest in.
