What has the price point been like on the 20xx series? Have they dropped yet in response to the 30xx release or should they still come down in the next few weeks?
I'm looking for a 2060 Super for Christmas and I'm not sure whether to pull the trigger yet or not, cheapest seems to be around £400 for an 8g 1680 MHz windforce card.

Or me. I'll set up roadblocks. Or just join the existing ones. Confiscate 3080s.

Mine still saying on the way to the depot, has been since yesterday. I'm assuming it's landed here and must be going to Athlone though...

I swapped in my new PSU earlier, everything ready to go for it's arrival.

Hoping it comes around lunchtime so I can get watchdogs downloaded by the time I'm finished work for the day.

No i read it on reddit it could of been overclockers but im pretty sure its scan and i dont think its illegal cause its only a pre order and the item hasnt been sold so no contract/sale has been completed, where if he bought it at said price and then they charged more after the fact thats different.
There is also cases of it going up from the time its added to the basket to the time they are nearly finished at the checkout.

Like amazon have a preorder price promise where the price you pre order at is the price you pay or less. Scan and overclockers dont.

I think Scan is going to honour the 469 GBP for my Zotac 3070 preorder. Just received the payment confirmation email.

"Payment has been authorised and we accept the contract between us is now unconditional (same as may appear in our Terms and Conditions)."

I would say that binds them to the price!

CCL seem to be very trusting. My card is getting delivered tomorrow morning yet money has not been taken from my account yet.

Now you have me questioning my post, I could have sworn it was a 3090 but I must have been wrong . I went back to check and can only see a 3080 for the same price I mentioned . Gone googly eyed from looking at these :p

Yea it's madness, nearly double the price. They seem to be sitting there though, maybe the poor scalpers will have to start lowering prices.

I'd love it if the scalpers take a massive hit on these. Particularly since the AMD cards are very impressive. Seen 3090s for 3K, hope that seller never makes a sell.

Also, is the whole PC from 2013/2014 or just the GTX970? Realistically something like an i7-6700K/7700K class processor would be what I'd consider a minimum with an RTX3070 to avoid heavy bottlenecking.

Even then wouldn't be ideal, ideal processor would be something like Ryzen 3700X or an Intel equivalent (8700K, 9700K, newer i5-10 series, etc) to get the most out of it.

Something like an i5-4x or i5-6x would be fairly hopeless unfortunately.

    Forgive my flawed logic here

    Built i5-6600k / 16GB DDR4 2133 MHz / ASUS Strix 970 / 350W PSU(probably should gotten bigger) in 2016

It’s been good for my 60-120 FPS @ 1080p gaming but getting a 3070 feels like a no brainer when I see the prices of 2080 Ti

I probably will be leaving some GPU power on the table until I upgrade CPU but I don’t mind, for now

Using bottleneck calculator. Using 2080Ti in place of 3070 as they don't have that on their site yet.

Your CPU will cause a massive 50.94% bottleneck.

That means you'll only be able to use on average 49.06% of the 3070's capability as your CPU will be holding you back.

(I think. correct me if I'm wrong)

    https://pc-builds.com/calculator/Core_i5-6600K/GeForce_RTX_2080_Ti/0Fs12nlu/16/100/

Edit: That's at 1080P gaming. It lessens at 1440p and less again at 4k.

Also, it's about more than average or max frames.

Now, a 6600K, with a RTX3070, the average frames are going to be way down versus a better processor.

But even at 4K, where it's generally GPU dependent, at this stage the 6600K is a 4 core, 4 thread processor. These days, all new AAA games are geared towards at least 4 core 8 thread, and tend to scale well with 6 core, 12 thread processors, sometimes even 8 core 16 thread.

What you will get with a 6600K and RTX3070 in a lot of new games even at 4K, is good average frames, but hard drops/stutter.

At 1080P high refresh it's much worse, because not only will your max FPS be capped heavily by the 6600K, you will still get those drops and atutter.

It varies from game to game, but generally speaking, you actually would have gotten much more benefit out of getting a Ryzen 3600, B450M and something like a 5600XT.

    If you can't justify a big upgrade right now, even getting a cheap B450M (£70) and Ryzen 3100 (£95) and 16GB DDR4 3200mhz (£65) is a big improvement.

That comes to £240 odd, and a 6600K would get €60-70, Z170 probably the same, 16GB 2133mhz maybe €40, so not a huge outlay.

Down the line you can get something like a 3700X when you can afford it, or even the newer as of yet unreleased 5 series.

Alternatively keep an eye out for cheap i7-6700 as a stop-gap if you want to avoid that hassle until a full core upgrade proper. Mostly they go for stupid money (remember, the Ryzen 3100 at £95 is just as good with better memory support/newer platform), but every now and again they go cheapish....one sold on Adverts the other day for €100.

So, today is the estimated delivery date for those of us who lucked out and got a 3080 from Scan on Wednesday.

I've got another wrinkle in the 3080 saga.

From DPD "Sorry, there's a delay with your parcel; this is normally resolved within 24 hours, and we will update you here shortly"

Nothing is easy with this card launch :pac:

I have another one too... I changed my payment card on Amazon, was due for priority delivery tomorrow to Parcel Motel. Now I see:

"We will email you when we have an estimated delivery date."

Mine is on a van and due to delivered shortly by Graham. I've a lot of time for good ol Graham.

    Hate you all...

What's the chances there is a big influx of Nvidia cards by the 17th of November just before big Navi hits the shelves?
Maybe even a price drop for some of the cards, or suddenly the 3070/3080 ti/super cards show up and are announced, they have done it in the past and history is doomed to repeat itself.

Wouldn't be surprised to see stocks ramp up big time over the next few weeks. Even the drop on scan for the 3080 the other day was bigger than any of the previous ones, and there's been more cards popping up on Amazon etc.

I think the super/ti variants are probably still a bit away. Next summer would be my guess. But they'll definitely happen at some stage. Don't think there'll be price cuts on any of the cards, maybe the 3090 but still probably not, but the AIB ones might stabilise closer to the MSRP.

    Same!

DPD found my delivery about 10 minutes after I posted earlier. Last component I ordered for a brand new build and you've guessed it, it arrived before anything else.

I have to sit looking at it until after work now! :(

The thing is built like a tank. I've no GPU bracket so I'm wondering if I need to put some sort of a prop under the tail of it to protect my board.
