Just got a call back from an 01 number after I emailed about a week ago. He checked the system and told me a letter with form was sent to me and I informed him that they should have received it back by 10 Aug (going on long post times) he said that's grand that they have a massive back log in post. He asked me the question again said he would send it up to them and inform them letter had been sent back. When I asked would it take another couple of weeks he said it wasn't his dept but shouldn't think it would take weeks for my payment. Also that my claim was now closed.
Q1 what dept would he be from?
Q2 was I just been fobbed off?

Q1 Probably Communications - ever since IB and BSCFA went pear-shaped and headed for the hills, they've been taking the flak.

Q2 The fact he said "closed" rather than "pending" makes me think not.

    Just opinions, though.

Thanks. At this stage I'm back working so am not to bad in lines of having to wait( my heart goes out to those who do). I'm just nervous about it all as I will most likely have to go back on it in the near future, with an on going problem. Dunno would it be worth it!!!!

Sorry to be off the track a bit but did any of ye have a problem with your employer filling out the form for you ?

They only filled it out for me when they were paying me so they could get a refund. Now they are not paying me so it's up to me but they had no problems filling it out.

I've been speaking to them all week, after literally hours on hold, I'm really getting nowhere. They say it'll be sorted early next week but I've heard that repeatedly. It's a month since I got a penny from them

I've been waiting since July and nothing yet.

Does anybody know how long should I wait after applying for the first payment to come through?

Judging by all previous posts it is a mess for previous recipients, does it affect new claims badly, too? Sent new form just last week, so won't be owed any money yet, but want to plan my finances ahead for next few weeks as I won't be back at work until end of October.

I guess the best plan is not to expect any money at all anytime soon? Or is it not that bad for all?

Looks like new claims are being processed extremely efficiently, or I was very very lucky.

€396 just landed in my account. I sent the IB form on Tuesday 11/09 and the second wekly medical cert on Wednesday 19th. Didn't get any letter or anything but I am guessing it is two weeks payment, one in arrears and one in advance.

Still doesn't add up, but I will take it.

I actually think they are trying to drive me insane. I rang again this morning and was told I was awarded credits only. The gentleman I spoke to said looking at his screen this was clearly a mistake so he was sending it back upstairs and marking it urgent. I don't know what that means and I don't know how much longer I can cope with this.

Got a payment just now. 165 euro. Should be 198. Sick of this system now. I know it's only 33 euro but when you have stuff to pay for its a lot.
Can't wait to get back to work .

Some people are waiting weeks maybe longer and some are only waiting the 2/3 weeks. It seems to be pot luck with it. In my case I was out sick sent in my forms for the weeks I was out then sent in final cert back in July and never received anything.

Feel sorry for all your troubles. I had no issues so far. 2 weeks payment received on 24/09, another 1 week payment on 26/09 and just received another payment today. Looks like I am lucky so far. Haven't even received any letter. Is that normal?

I hope yours is sorted now.

No I'm still no further along, got through to them today after an hour and was told it's been approved (applied in July) but payment hasn't been processed as I went to the CWO twice and they have to figure out how much she gave me, then pay it back, then I get paid. It's something different every week

They can't call the CWO and ask, deduct it from your benefit and let you move on???

    That is outrageous.

Hopefully I will only be out of work only for next 4 weeks and won't have to deal with them at all in the future.

Just got paid 165 instead of my usual 198

    What's that all about?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,332 ✭✭✭Always Be Closing

That is me every week. Check your bank tomorrow and you will see €33 in it. I haven't a clue why they are doing this.

For me they are. It's very frustrating.

  • Registered Users Posts: 45 Bubabear

Its awful. I finally got through to the yesterday about my claim for July and the woman I spoke to, said herself its so frustrating they are starting all over again and haven't a clue what's happening. I went back to work as I couldn't afford to be sick no pay at all. I really do hope they sort people out asap its so unfair people out sick last thing they need

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,332 ✭✭✭Always Be Closing

I got through after 1 hour 20 mins on hold

Guy said it was a system glitch, nothing I had done wrong, and I'd get an extra 33 quid in next fridays payment

Ridiculous state of affairs if you ask me - i have a S/O coming out of my account every 2nd friday for 178, so this 165 has made it go tits up

Did anyone get a text off them this morning?

Still missing 33 euro. Usually when they pay 165 I get the remaining amount but not this time.

It's getting added to this weeks 198- you'll get 231

Well, that didn't take long for mine to be messed up.

Just got paid 33 euro today:mad:

Sure, it's only 165 missing for a week...

Has anyone managed to get through to them? Only half payment last Friday and no one can confirm what might happen this Friday.

Not yet, only found out now.

I am guessing it's 1hr + on the phone to get through. Might wait till Friday and see if there is another payment on the way.

Is anyone actually getting through to them, I've spent over three hours on hold yesterday and over four hours today. I keep getting cut off at around 1 hr 4 mins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 616 ✭✭✭hawthorne

I was at my doctor for the half yearly cert 3 weeks ago. He had no new certs yet and was out of old ones. So he borrowed an old form from his partner. I sent the cert off to SW, together with a different claim form for my son who is back to college. Qualifying child and all that craic.
The money for my son was already transferred onto my account 36 hours later....on a Saturday evening!
Got my weekly allowance for me, my wife and my son for the next 2 weeks as usual on a Wednesday morning onto my account.
Just checked my account an hour ago and noticed that I got money on Wednesday morning. But not the usual 361 something euro.
60 euro and 20 cent is all I got....
It is quite obvious that SW has not sorted out its problems yet....

Best time to call is between 4 and 5

I've always gotten through at that time and most people think they've closed at 4pm

Also, use the 01 707 number and not the lo call 1890 one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,332 ✭✭✭Always Be Closing

I get the feeling we're gonna get stung tomorrow and won't get what's been outstanding/left short in last weeks

I was told I'd get 231 but ain't gonna hold my breath

  • Registered Users Posts: 2 tonybuzz32000

Me too, normally get 261.40 and this week got 43.60. We would just like to know where we stand can't get through to phones sent them an email and nothing. We all still have bills and mortgages to pay.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

What a joke. Rang them 45 minutes ago and after 45 minutes of being on hold and listening to music another message appeared informing me that they closed from 1 to 2pm...

Sure they could tell me this straight away rather than after 45 minutes of thanking me for staying on the line.

Not gonna ring them again this week. Just because I have lot of free time doesn't mean they can treat people like this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,332 ✭✭✭Always Be Closing

I've rang 3 times this morning - all 3 were one hour calls, all 3 dropped at 59 mins and 59 secs

Gonna keep at it and try again at 2, I'll post immediately once I get through and speak with someone

I'm starting to think they just aren't answering the phones. We've both been on hold since two surely one of us would have got through by now there can't be that many ahead of us

They don’t have any telephonists employed as in, there are no staff employed to just answer the phone
Staff are sitting at desks processing claims and they stop what they’re doing to answer the phones.
It’s entirely possible that they’ve decided that they’re not going to answer the phones in order to try to get through the backlog.
Hardly any government depts have telephonists now definitely not DSP or Justice
