Tyre pressure

Hi just wondering what Tyre pressures people use , mainly only cycle in ticknock and have 27.5 x2.3 on the front and 27.5x 2.25 on the back and am 95 kg , presently going with 30 psi on the front and 32 psi on the back and both are tubeless , does this sound about right ?

As I cycle up mainly instead of driving there lower pressures seems to make the bike feel soft on the road up

    Thanks for any reply’s

I run 17 and 20psi (tubeless set up) but I am under 60kg. It's down to personal preference really and your style of riding.

For pedalling on tarmac I'd definitely run a higher pressure though.

    I use the 'Squeeze' method

I normally pump them to the max pressure the tyre can take until I get to the top of ticknock then let them down to circa 25psi. I'm about 75kg

Me too! I "squeezed" and experimented until I got the pressure I liked and then discovered it was 17 / 20.

Never thought of that , great ideas are so obvious 😂

General setup I use is about 26 in the rear and 23 in the front, tubeless setup. I'll drop it 3 psi on each if particularly muddy or slippy

Squeeze method a lot of the time but recently got a pressure guage. I try to keep both at about 23psi. I'm 85kg.

If cycling up to the trails, I'll lob about 30 in each then back that off when up there.

For XC exploring (fire roads, dry hard compacted trails, etc) I use about 28psi front, 30psi rear. It's wet, I'll drop around 3psi for both. For bike park trail (Ballyhoura's) I'll have 19psi front, 23psi rear. I've 29x2.2, tubeless and I'm a fat bastard.

I tend to run 24psi front and 27 rear for my local mostly natural trails. When they get wet I'll drop that about 3 psi front and rear. I'm just over 80kg

For a day at Bike Park Ireland, I'll start at higher pressures if I'm riding the jump trails, but generally drop down to my preferred pressures once I start riding the blacks.

Having ridden Ticknock only once, I got the impression its pretty rocky, and I was tempted to add some pressure to my tyres there.

I have 2.25” tyres on my 29er and put 38/44psi F/R for road use and drop it to 32/38 for fire trails and off road.

How heavy are you? That seems like very high pressures! I run 2.25"s on my 29ers at 24/24 for off road and a few psi higher if I'm cycling a loop that includes some road! I'm 82kgs!
