Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have been using this site and organising events on it for years not but it has taken a turn for the worse since that greedy hipster crowd WeWork bought it out and started rolling out all sorts of unpopular changes.

But it has been fun while it lasted. Met some right characters on it.

One fella recently decided to go camping in a €18 single-skinned tent with us on a rainy night. When it flooded he decided at 6 in the morning to go up a 900m mountain on his own without so much as a bottle of water. Someone found him near the top absolutely gasping for a drink.

One regular who is a bit of an oddball. Always showed up with a suit jacket, a plastic bag full of 7up cans and no matter how bad you tell him the terrain is going to be he wears a pair of very slippery white shoes. Turns out he's a bit of a pervert as well. He claims to go to Thailand once a year for some nude massage fun and PMs female members to share a tent.

A lot of the people (especially the women) don't actually care about going on any activities and just want to meet a fella but they go through some effort to hide this fact. They'll show up and decide to hang around the campsite for the duration or they'll show up very late and just in time for the drinks after the event.

For a time it was the go-to site for anyone having trouble getting out of a rut or going through a hard time and as such attracted its fair share of fruitcakes. So anyone else have a tale to tell about something that happened at a meetup?

    There's a camping group? :D

I've had some good experience. Been to a poker event and met a good friend during one of walking groups. Having said that, I haven't used it that much but I think it's a lifesaver.

So happy there's something there to organize social events that aren't just about piss-ups. Piss-ups are fun too they're easy to find in Ireland, lol

Never used it, but you'd meet your fair share of oddballs at a Boards meet up as well

I wouldn't recommend trying to meet someone who likes camping.

The relationship would be very in tents.

No dedicated camping group but there are several groups that do camping from time to time. It's hard to get the numbers to go camping in the winter:P

There's one fella I know who has a group and his own camper van and he had something different up for every week of the summer last year almost
