Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I’m only reading the link he gave

    3. Please leave us a comment if you want a sealed box. Otherwise we will unseal the box to do "Quality Control" and flash the multi-language ROM for the Chinese version. The original box from manufacturer is sealed. It's only with English and without "Play Store".

Don't know why people would choose a Chinese supplier at that price when you can buy direct from Amazon.de for €329 + delivery + difference in VAT and have a rock solid guarantee.

Surely it is the same as any other Chinese/Hong Kong online reseller? ( ie Eglobalcentral, Honorbuy etc)
They all good, until you need warranty repair .
Buying from China always a gamble, but for 30% price difference it is a risk I am willing to take.

I'm very much tempted by this phone. There have been a few Hotuk deals on it, the latest being this via Aliexpress:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Global-Version-Xiaomi-POCOPHONE-F1-POCO-F1-6GB-64GB-Snapdragon-845-6-18-Full-Screen-AI/2178148_32915991130.html?aff_platform=promotion&cpt=1541776233407&sk=ci3voifV&aff_trace_key=76584209c0494a3ead256d316d8417a5-1541776233407-05405-ci3voifV&terminal_id=6a5d1dc5d4f244c7bf0d31dcc010b006

Add to cart, pay on 11.11 for around € 255,48

I have a Samsung a8 which is perfectly fine. I just want something biggerer and fasterer for no reason at all.

If you want to avoid pay TAX , you probably have to look elsewhere :

HK Goldway, Mi Store, Mi Global Store

Those 3 on AliExpress definitely delivering TAX free with DHL shipping method.

I'm hopefully getting one of these soon, going to unlock bootloader, root and at the very least debloat, but I'm wondering what are the recommended (if any) custom roms available and what functionality is lost with them?
I'm coming from a Nexus 5x, so I'm hoping for as close to stock as possible.

Edit: Also, are there any recommended fixes for any general issues yet? I've seen this one for the Netflix quality issue (just a modded Netflix apk that will play videos in HD/Ultra HD quality), are there any others?

Anyone having trouble with reception at times. I'm in Dublin and in some buildings I can't get 3G/4G, and sometimes no mobile data coverage/extremely slow. I'm with Vodafone. Others with me will always have no problems with other phones.

I, all of a sudden, can't open "Mi Account" in the settings. I've updated to MIUI 10, I could access definitely open my mi account before and I was pretty sure I did after, but after changing my region (to access themes) I can no longer open Mi Account. I can't install any themes or check unlock status in developer options because of this. Anyone else encounter this problem?

Nothing happens. The box highlights, but nothing opens. I can still open Sync, below it.

All I want to do is log into it, which will allow me to access new themes in the themes menu and check the unlock status of the bootloader in the developer menu (which you need to do to actually unlock it).

Can't recommend Movertix enough. Ordered yesterday, arrived today. Big difference from other websites! By the way I ordered galaxy tab a 10.5 with sim slot for €295. Cheapest.

Have you tried using the search within the settings menu and looking for region?

I can change the region. Changing it allows me to open the themes app and see more available themes, but it doesn't make any difference to opening mi account in settings (and you can't download any more themes if you aren't connected to a mi account).

Anyone recommend tempered glass for the phone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,115 ✭✭✭eggy81

Howdy. I'm out of contract shortly on an s7 will be looking to change phone and steer clear of Bill pay on the next one. The s7 is showing it's age battery wise at this stage though really it's been a great fone. Probably the best smartfone I've had yet.
So I'm looking at the pocof1 and the one plus 6t and wondering which one should I go for coming from the s7. Are they both a step up from it or would I be underwhelmed. The oneplus is a gorgeous looking fone I think and seems to have a very high spec but at a higher cost and the poco just seems incredible value and still has it's 3.5 Jack intact.

Any experienced advice would be appreciated

I got this one from Ferilinso on Amazon (https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GTLRKQ7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Only negative was the black border effect is a little heavy for my liking but it was and still is spotless and scratch free, no complaints.

I swapped my s7 for the Poco last month and am seriously impressed. Battery is fantastic and is a decent step up performance wise.

Got a decent price from CEX on the old s7 too (€160) with a battery that barely lasted half a day.

Ok sounds like it would suit me down to the ground. If I buy off Amazon do I need to be careful as to which version of it ie region or is 8t by default the right model for Europe.
