    Kimi in again

Pity to lose so many cars so early

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,724 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Kimi out now. Verstappen eased past Checo, what a difference in performance. Ah well it was nice while it lasted, still good points on offer today.

Poor Kimi. Vettel will hopefully win.

Field is spreading out a bit

Only thing to hope for might be if they struggle with tyres a little bit but not great at the moment

13 laps gone on full fuel and no issues. Another few laps and they'll only have to do 24 on harder tyres. Pity.

Another safety car or Hamilton's car stopping in the middle of the track would do either.

Vettel has got his tyres into the working range and that's that I guess

Absolutely. It's not like we haven't seen that shot a million bloody times already.

Can see from sector times that the Ferrari is better on traction maybe. Gains time out of chicane and the la source.

Good news for Ferrari at monza so.

He was already back out for a good bit on the timing screen before they even mentioned it!

    Fastest lap for Vettel

Not sure if it was a channel4 replay or the race director showing the start replay but a bit annoying

Race director, I'd say - Sky did't have it either.

    Yes, I am watching Sky....

Can't remember the last time I was excited watching the battle up front. (or lack of battle)

Probably Bahrain between Hamilton and Rosberg.

What was the point of that little clip of Bottas? We know who he is.

    Edit: Danny Ric retired

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,724 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

How easy does Ocon make it for Bottas I wonder

    4th is 29 seconds behind 3rd
    3rd is 25 seconds behind 2nd
    2nd is 5 seconds behind 1st

    This is just not right

Yeah once Bottas takes Perez, that’s all the overtaking action done.

At least Checo is making Bottas work for it, Esteban jumped out of the way like a cat scared of his shadow

    Verstappen is bored
He's not alone there. Its turned into another borefest.

Watching Sky and Croft(?) suggested that Hamilton had the time in hand to pit for supersofts and go full kamikaze for the last few laps to get Seb. But then conceded that it'll never happen because he has to look after his engine which has to last till the end of the season.

How is this racing when they're not pushing? Its just a parade after the first few laps (excluding Bottas slowly making his way through). Really really beginning to think that I just won't be tuning in for 2019.

The halo is the ugliest thing in an F1 car since Pastor Maldonado, but it's proved it's worth a couple of times this season already. A necessary evil, I'm glad it was there today

Apart from the opening lap chaos it was fairly standard. No interesting strategy battles, the gap between the front teams and every one else is bigger than ever. The only positive is a solid points haul for RPFI on their debut race :p

Checo my driver of the day, nice move to pass his teammate and pushed hard, fought Bottas longer than expected for that position.

Yep, after the first lap turned into a snoozefest unfortunately. Nice to see the Ferrari working so well though.

I agree. Unless I win the lotto I will not be paying to watch Sky Sports F1. I give Sky enough money as it is so fu,ck them. Besides I don't like the F1 team. Am going to miss C4 and there F1 team.

I kinda don't mind as most of the races are now boring except for a few laps at the beginning or the end. Maybe after a break away from F1 and doing other things I might get into it again. Will watch the highlights next year if I hear the race was good otherwise will not bother.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Lewis so surprised by the straight line speed of that Ferrari that he sh"t himself.

Yeah boring race apart from the first lap dual ..but it ended there.

Not much to look at other than bottas pace difference from other cars and engines.

Good result in the end from Perez and Ocon ,half expected Haas to push them but never transpired.

Hartley took Ericsson to school and made absolutely sure Gasly kept his points. Not that I believe Ericsson could catch and pass him.

Renault have awful lot of work to do with their engine.

On to Monza sadly for more of the same

He's spot on. Hamilton is a pathetic loser. Always has some conspiracy when he's beaten, never just that he was beaten by a better car/driver on the day.

This might sound a bit strange but bear with me.

I never had an interest in Formula 1, or indeed any type of motorsport, until I played Motorsport Manager 3. It's an excellent management-sim game and it's really piqued my interest in the real thing. I watched the race today and really enjoyed it, but there was all sorts of technical jargon that I didn't understand. Can anyone point me toward a website or resource that would help open up the sport to me. I'm particularly interested in the rules around how cars are upgraded, etc.

    Many thanks.

Bottas 5 sec penalty. Like what is the point.

He seems to be able to do what he wants

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,277 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Hulkenberg gets a 10 place penalty in Monza for starting the lap one mayhem, Bottas gets 5 seconds added to the result here for smacking the Williams.
