Apologies if this has been asked before - a very simple question. Whats the best method of transferring a large amount of US Dollars from a US bank account to a regular Irish Bank Account? The sender seems to think it could cost them upto $'000's to send? This can't be right?

Use an online currency broker such as Currency Fair.

In the absence of an online currency broker you will pay a significant FX margin fee.
