    Hi,

Im thinking of applying for a mortgage with BOI but I just wanted to verify what you look for in credit history.  Basically I got married this year so there hasnt been a lot of saving done in the first half of this year.  I have however in the last few months started saving again.  I also have a few years previous of saving.   My question is how far back do BOI look to ascertain if someone is approved.  I keep hearing the last 6 months statements are used but in my case that would only show a few months saving.

    regards

    Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here.

There would be no hard and fast rule in relation to what is checked on your account it can change from application to application. I've given a link here that you can use to arrange a call back from our mortgage specialists and they'll be happy to look through your account details and confirm what options are available to you.

    Thanks again,
    Darren.
