Which electricity company is better one bedroom apartment?

    Thanks in advance

electric Ireland are the most lenient in cutting you off if you think you'll be late on bills, airtricity almost have the engineer on the doorstep at midnight if your direct debit declines

prepay meters are a poor tax and cost a lot more to keep running so I wouldn't be bothered with that craic.

bord gais, electric ireland and energia are kind of the most above board.

Just go with whomever has the best deal currently, you'll probably be changing every 12 months anyway

Energia seem to be cheapest for most people.

You could try looking up the comparison sites bonkers.ie or switcher.ie to get an idea of what plans have the best value currently

Find out how well the apartment is insulated and how how water is heated.

You can get combined electricity and gas deals.

Depending on how long you intend staying, some suppliers offer 1-year deals. There may be an extra charge if you leave early.

As you are new to the country, with no credit history, they may insist on a direct debit and/or a deposit.

Some suppliers bill monthly, others bill every second month.

All suppliers’ “customer service” are equally incompetent
