Some images not visible in CVPL

    Hi there,

    For the last few months quite a few people have told us that they cannot see some of the images being posted. The main culprits seem to be images posted from "pbs.twimg.com" (twitter images, I've been told, but they're not the only ones). It happens across a number of browsers (e.g., Firefox, but not Vivaldi) and OS. It doesn't seem to make a difference whether someone is accessing through a laptop or a phone.

    Someone suggested it may have something to do with tracking protection, and in some cases (but not all) disabling that seems to work. However, if the image is opened as a separate URL in another tab (as opposed to seeing it embedded), the image is perfectly visible.

    Is this something that can be fixed?

    That's a twitter thing. They insist on setting cookies to before showing the image, and many browsers block third party cookies by default. Hence why the direct image URL works. There's nothing boards.ie can do about it.
