Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He’s going full Donald. Only a matter of time before the red ‘Make United Great Again’ hats appear.

The fact that he is even counting how many Premier League titles other managers have won is pathetic, and then uses it to try and make himself look good is so childish. Pure Trump.

Success in football is a strange parameter though. If you look at 'successful' players then the reserve keepers of Barca and Bayern are more successful than the even some of the first XI who win the major trophies.

Case in point Pinto for Barca.

    Management is similar
. Trappatoni has all the successful accolades. Wouldn't let him near any Premier league team with a barge pole though when he was active during the Ireland years tho. There is a strong sense that more and more teams in soccer have adapted to playing against low blocks and Jose doesn't seem to have adapted to that yet. He may still adapt, but it looks slim and slimmer by the day.

You’re being as ridiculous as Jose is in his pressers in regards to the bold here.

The point is while trophy count is important too much emphasis in placed on it.A coach's aptitude should definitely be determined by his success but the past successes must always be considered within the context of evolution of the game and the weighting applied to those merits appropriately. For a while now there's been indications that Jose has struggled to adapt. That is not to say he won't.

I'd be curious to see why he reacted that way.

It's all well and good posting something woth zero context for the usual bellpipes to lap up but the reporter clearly said something that rankled him.

Still, he should know better than to give them more ammo, Lord knows the on field stuff is providing enough of that already.

Do you really think it took much for him to react this way.

With zero context I don't know but as i said, the usual bellpipes will lap it up so objective has been completed.

Ah to be fair there's never been a manager with as much written about him/press surrounding him and there never will be again

What would you say would be a better metric of success than trophies/titles?

When has Trump ever pointed out how many premier league titles he has won?

A gross overreaction then, as expected. Nothing untrue or unfair about what the reporter said IMO.

The overall playing performance, progression and growth of a team. With heavier emphasis placed on the current year and previous season (if applicable).

    ah cmon now

every manager in a big job handles himself in the public eye

mourinho has played that aspect of it from the very start but somewhere along the way he turned sour enough about it

regardless, to say theres something unique about the press he gets vs ferguson, wenger, rafa, houllier et al when they had the glare on them is not true imo

Great win for spurs and a brilliant start to the season. No signings and had an awful preseason with the majority of their first 11 making the last 4 at the world cup . He has yet to win anything at spurs but Poch has done a super job there.

Did you read Jamie Jackson's article during the week? He's on Woodward's propaganda team it seems and wrote an article undermining Jose. Why should Jose have to put up with any of his shít?

    Please!

Jose has been playing the us against the world card for years. Its an old record he keeps regurgitating for his followers of the day. He brings it all on himself.

Wrong even when he thinks he is right lol, he said won did not say how they were won as Manager or Player

    Jose - 3
    Others - 4

    Pep - 1
    Pellegrini - 1
    Hughes - 2

    :pac:

Thank you very much aggressively with everything but one point we actually had a great pre season picked up the international champions trophy yoke so in America beating some big Euro names on the way. A shiny new trophy for our new cheese room lol

I wasn't talking about the results more in terms of what poch had to deal with with regard to having players missing due to the world cup. I would say spurs were the most impacted team in preseason due to the WC. The things jose moaned about no signings and missing WC players spurs had it worse . Poch just got on with it and spurs for me have had the best start to the season when you consider this, the stadium uncertainty and the fixture list.
