Quin_Dub banned me from the politics forum for "inciting hatred".

It was not my intention to incite any hatred.

I would like to appeal this ban.

Hi. The first step in the process is to attempt to resolve the ban directly with the mod. Can you let me know if you have tried to do this?

Here is the original PM Quin_Dub sent me.

    Dear Dr Brown,

You have been permanently banned from Politics for a breach of the forum charter.

Every forum on Boards.ie has a charter which lists any specific rules that forum may have and it is really important that you read this as it'll help you familiarise yourself with how that forum works. You should also understand that every forum is different and that charters are how you learn the differences.

Please see the Boards.ie FAQ for more details.

If you wish to appeal this ban you can see details on how to do so here.

    Moderator Note

We're done here.. This isn't the place you.. utterly unacceptable

    Thanks for that.

I've read the thread and your post that the permanent ban was based on.

Can you explain the grounds you want to appeal on?

I would like to appeal the ban because it was not my intention to incite any hatred.

There were two reasons given by the mod for your permanent ban, the first one being racism which you oddly forgot to mention in your DRP. This is the pm that you received:

But just in case you can't

    Boards.ie General Rules

The following are prohibited under Boards.ie general standing rules.

    1. Advertising
    2. Racism
    3. Porn
    4. Copyrighted Material
Or if you prefer , this bit..

Please note that any post deemed to incite hatred or promote violence will be dealt with in the strictest possible manner.
This isn't up for negotiation , if you wish to challenge the ban , please feel free to use the Dispute resolution process.

    Your post was racist.

You said you didn't have a problem with laws that make mixed race marriage illegal and you yourself said that anyone who advocates for those views these days would be viewed as a white supremacist.

    I'm upholding the ban.

How is it racist ? there are many Black and Asian people that share similar views on mixed marriages etc.

Also Israel has laws against mixed marriages are they also racist too ?

Racism is when you hate another race.

I don't see how laws that protect real diversity could be racist.

If we go down that road we might as well say that the founders of the United States were racist.

Yes I would like to appeal to the admin because I was not even aware I was causing any offense and was banned without any warning.

I have taken a look at this

Firstly the question of "racism". A quick search of the internet reveals numerous definitions of the term, but they are all consistent. The basically indicate racism is a belief in the superiority of one race over another which can result in prejudice or discrimination - for example Wikipedia on the subject

    From your post
Laws against mixed marriages actually protect people and preserve real diversity.

But in todays PC culture anyone who advocates for such laws would automatically be called a "white supremacist". Even though most US presidents down through history would of have had a similar view point.

Yes laws against mixed marriage are racist, and you are advocating racism. I note a similar undertone in a number of threads to which you have contributed and would warn you that if you continue to promote racist policy your time on this site will be short

    Ban upheld

Well I never said I believe any race to be "superior". I just believe that every people should have the right to self determination including white people.

"Racist" is not a word I would use to describe my self.

These days anyone who calls from Immigration control is labeled "racist".

You were advocating policies that are racist. That in itself is racist

I'm closing this now, and marking resolved
