I'm looking for advice on a rough price to expect for painting 11 internal doors varnished pine doors, skirting board, architrave and a carpeted stairs. The landing and 3 bedrooms are carpeted as well. The house is a 3 bed semi about 100 square metres.

We got a couple of quotes but a fairly big difference in the price so are none the wiser really.

What colour are you hoping to paint? Do you want to use oil based or water based paint?

Sorry painting them white. A slight sheen not full gloss. 32 spindles and posts in total. Not sure of difference between oil and water based.

Oil based is tougher, but yellows over time. Water based will stay white indefinitely. Trouble is, the water based stuff is poor when going over existing paint.

How many rooms re: the skirting boards?

Probably would be better off with the water based its going over varnished pine skirting and doors.

3 bedrooms, kitchen/dining room and sitting room along with hall inside the front door have skirting board.

Would you consider replacing the skirting ?

Foil wrapped skirting is so handy. Doesn’t need painting wipes clean.

We replaced ours while changing flooring. Very easily done and stays fresh

Probably cheaper than painting and you won’t get paint on the floor ;)
