A few showers here and there but nothing a raincoat won't fix. 😉

Anyone know how far the shuttle drop off will be form general camping? Have asked Bus Eireann and ATN and got no reply.

On the map it's right beside it

Saw ATN reply on a fb post saying that to get to boutique area by bus / drop off, it is from the blue gate and a 10 minute walk through general campsite.

Seemed like it would be a lot longer walk going by last year.

My biggest clash has actually ended up being Bombay Bicycle Club vs Olafur Arnalds vs the Murder Capital, really unsure of what to go for...!

This is an awful question but will Patti Smith be good for not really a fan? Because I could see myself going to Loyle Carner and hanging around for Kiasmos, and the missus wants to see Soda Blonde, if that pans out as the special guest.

I appreciate she's a legend, I like the songs I've listened to (mainly from Horses), but would her set be mostly enjoyable for a long-time fan?

What a question, yeah! :-) And really only answerable by you :-)

Long time, really long time Patti Smith fan here. If anything goes by her recent sets, she'll start off with some lesser known "mid-era" tracks. However, she will do a good few classic covers, e.g. Beds are Burning. Hopefully then, she'll cover some early tracks, that some will know. I haven't seen her in years, but I think, given her worldly concern, she should engender a rousing crowd. Unfortunately, I don't see any occurrence of Horses tracks on setlists recently (real pity). I'll be up the front no doubt.

As for your other clash, if it was me, I'd be at Murder Capital--they're really kicking it now....saw them at EP last year, first time was hazy ;-) Got to see them before Christmas--don't be fooled by James, the lead singer; looks scary, but a gentleman; helped my and my brother out with a ticket.

Wanted to see Olafur myself, but I know that my whole body will be itching to get out and see the Murder Capital.

Saw Patti Smith last year with Nick Cave and 2016 in London supporting Massive Attack. Both were pretty rousing crowd pleasing sets. She's a phenomenal performer.

Just saying this now. People going to Olafur, better shut up. It's very serene and even though it's a festival, it will be ruined by the typical chatter you might get.

Does anyone know where in Dublin might be best to buy re-waterproofing spray or liquid for the washing machine? My rain jacket isn’t what it used to be and I’d like to freshen it up with this new forecast in mind!

Nikwax - you should be able to find it in any outdoor/hiking store.. spray-on is best - direct wash waterproofs the inside of gear which is not good for breathability .. wash first with tech wash (nikwax)

Saw Patti supporting Nick Cave last summer and she was class. Put on a real old school rock n roll show. Well worth checking out.

saw her at EP a few years ago but they only gave her an hr slot - she or the fans were not happy about that - but twas a fab hour.. looking forward to seeing her in curious minds and then seeing her show - have read 2 of her books.. she's a legend

Last year you had to walk all the way through the site, down to the main house and lawns and around the lake to get to Boutique and Campervan etc. from the general camping and main arena area. It was a serious trek!

This year it looks like they are opening up routes directly from the main carpark around the northwest perimeter (through general camping) and directly into the main arena (Bandstand area via "Wells Bridge" on the map) so the distances look to be much less.

If so it's a very good move as the remoteness of the campervan and boutique area was one of the few negative points from last year.

Also it looks like they are focusing all the music and the specialist bars (gin, ketel one etc.) around the top end of the site and leaving the lawns in front of the house for just spoken word and kids stuff. Another good move which should minimize the traipsing up and down the main avenue which got a wee bit tiresome last year!

seriously - the weather forecasts (on the 3 sites i use) have been changing every few hours for the last few days - so I would not get too excited about what your currently seeing - good or bad.. wait at least till tomorrow eve/fri morn..

I have a friend getting dropped off in general campsite but staying in podpads

Will he need to bring in all his alcohol in general and carry to podpads? Or can he leave his alcohol with us and carry in from the podpad car park?

    Thanks

His alcohol is checked on entry (where you get your wristband). He may have to drag it though the site to the podpads.

There were no boards last year. You still may be able to wheel the suitcase over the ground but may be required to lift at times

Re camping equipment try Dunnes, woodies, halfords, b&q

What do you need done? No need to worry about posting twice on Clashfinder as long as the last update is correct. The comments are only to explain why you're making an revisions.

I do seem to remember folks who would help lug your stuff in general camping last year. Thought it was funny at the time cause it wasnt that big in the first place... looking like there's a bit more trekking to be done this year tho so those folks could come in handy for some.

    Not me though I'm hardcore

    Just kidding, I've a trolley
