Ricosruffneck is probably more a raver than a rocker judging by some of that list there. :)

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Well of course they're not. Some of them aren't even real letters.

I'm late to the raver party but I've arrived haha. Nah I started listening to moderat and then Jon Hopkins and modeselektor. Then went onto r n b.

Bit of a mixed bag, like my mind ;) def better than just sticking to rock, folk and indie though.

Like others on this site I have my fingers crossed you get aphex this year be it EP or ATN

James Blake has a gap this weekend. Love his new album. Would be good addition to ATN.

I was utterly addicted to James Blake... until the new album. It's really not doing a whole lot for me. Must give it a few more goes.

EDIT: He's in Japan on July 26th... so I'd say ATN is unlikely.

Had it in my head that he was in Japan that weekend at Fuji Rocks but that's the previous one. Would love him at ATN. Or anywhere as a standalone, headline show in Ireland this year. Been a while, as far as I'm aware.

He did support kendrick Lamar at the 3arena last year alright but no recollection of his last headline show here.

    His site says this:
05 Jul 2019 Wireless Festival Frankfurt, Germany
07 Aug 2019 Oya Festival Oslo, Norway
08 Aug 2019 Way Out West Festival Gothenburg, Sweden

More likely EP with all of those fests (inc Fugi Rock) being Live Nation/Fest Republic

He was in the Olympia and Limelight Belfast 2 years ago, great show

Rock En Seine line-up below. As usual it's a mixed bag. A good indication of who's touring in August. Can see a good few appear at EP or ATN.

    Friday 23 Août 2019
    THE CURE
    BALTHAZAR
    EELS
    JOHNNY MARR
    KOMPROMAT
    ...

    Saturday 24 Août 2019
    MAJOR LAZER
    JORJA SMITH
    ALPHA WANN
    JUNGLE
    LOUIS COLE BIG BAND
    POLO & PAN

    Sunday 25 Août 2019
    APHEX TWIN
    FOALS
    ROYAL BLOOD
    AGAR AGAR
    BRING ME THE HORIZON
    CLAIRO
    DEERHUNTER
    SHARON VAN ETTEN

Obviously some huge names here and would love to see many of them.

Probably dreaming if I ask for The Cure and Royal Blood, but Balthazar are lovely and I feel they'd suit ATN pretty well. Aphex Twin obvs.

I care less about guitars than a few here but nothing beats a band that can give a great live show, so I am looking forward to getting sucked in to a performance somewhere.

    Can't wait until the 19th

Do we think king Kong company will make an appearance this year after the outcry for them last year?

Think I recall someone saying they'd already been announced. Around the same time the National were announced

Saw then play Independence that same weekend, they were amazing, to be fair they could have made the trip for ATN

Think they're from Waterford so could be decent change of them making the line up

One of the band members said on instagram that they would be there this year

They played beatyard as well I think

I don't think King Kong Company were officially announced (meaning by organisers themselves), but since they couldn't make it last year I'd say it's likely they will be present this year. They're not actually all from Waterford as far as I know but met at college there or something. Either way strong ties to the locality and would be great to see them

I saw them 2 years ago at Townlands Festival in Macroom and they were unreal, great one to catch live for a boogie!

David Byrne rumoured. Anyone else hear this?

David Byrne rumoured. Anyone else hear this?

If you're referring to the 'some people thought this would be a' road to nowhere' Facebook/twitter post this could be a reference to David Byrne being booked but also it's the name of one of their stages.

    Is there a new/different Rumor?

David Byrne rumoured. Anyone else hear this?

I'd say it's in reference to the "Road to Nowhere" comment in a recent social media post.

Would be amazing if it's true but i'd say it's just a reference to the Road to Nowhere area in the festival itself.

Think it's based off this post , they wrote underneath in comments that it was just a pun on stage name and that they hadn't booked DB! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=597591827330838&id=363135634109793

Ya it's was surprising they weren't there, I sincerely doubt indiependence had any exclusive agreement with them either.

To be honest other than two brass bands for the most part ATN did seem to vere away from booking the Irish Mainstays of the festival circuit. I am all for supporting Irish acts and they are mostly very good but when you've seen em a million times it gets tiresome.

Next announcement is the day after Jungle play The Olympia. What are the chances????

They were amazing at EP18. I'd be delighted to see them at ATN19.
