Hi all, For a medium size house with a heat pump, the MIC calculation allowing for diversity is at the limit for 16mm PVC insulated cable. Are 25mm2 tails being used in domestic installations with heat pumps / other than cost and workability, what are the main disadvantages using 25mm2 in place of 16mm2? Thank you,

No disadvantage at all. I wired a few in 25 sq back in the day.
The larger cable reduces volt drop and earth fault loop impedance.
