Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Big Flute Festival is being held in Dublin this weekend. Will any of the cultural moths of AH be attending to see big flutes in action? Maybe get their hands on a big flute to see what it’s like.

The rusty trombone festival is in October for those of you into that sort of thing.

Even though I have the type that Hector Bellend referred to, I bought a musical flute a few months ago. I couldn't make it go, which really upset me. I gave a loan of it to my brother (who's more musical) and he struggled too (and he used to have a trumpet). He still has my flute (bought from www.thomann.de ) so I haven't had a chance to try again.

Fairly to all ye flautists! It's no tin whistle! I'm not in Dublin so I can't go.

What men with small flutes say. :D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I tend to only attend the Massive Flute Festival, the Big Flute Festival is a bit too small for me.

I’d have thought the piccolo festival would be more your scene.

Honestly, you're all so immature. I went one year, it was great fun.

Not just big flutes though, there were lots of huge banjos and even some group sax.
