Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Perfect autumn morning out here... Mysterious mist shrouding and softening.... Took the dog out as she had bad cabin fever and she shot off down the lane, ears flapping... Alas the berry picking was cut short as the midges are ravenous...

HAPPY MONTH out there to everyone!

Probably the most predictable month in the calendar - expect the customary temperature drop although we're doing well this coming week with more high pressure.

Very happy September! Autumn is my favourite season.

YAY! Mine too.... I get bad SAD with the M.E and already encroaching but I still love this month and intend to enjoy every day in whatever way I can. ... The colours and tastes.. the sun when it emerges, like now... planting bulbs... jamming.

My birthday month, yay. I'm turning 30 in 5 days.

In the twilight of my youth. I'm scared about it, lol.

I only got to sleep at 7am this morning (and I wasn't partying) so I didn't get to greet the arrival of September.

This is my first time not to go to the Electric Picnic. After 14 years, I decided that after last year's dodgy weather, and this year's bad line-up, I sold my ticket 2 weeks ago. I sold it at face, the price I paid and not the full (or inflated) price.

Also, I'm not overly well (health-wise), but it's nothing chronic. Sleeping in a field wouldn't help, though.

It seems to be a lovely day.

I'm a summer man but I like Sept and Oct. For people who don't like the cold and dark they are kind of hard to enjoy too much though as you constantly have winter looming over you. Drinking my beer in my Spanish garden right now in the sun though so summer ain't over for me just yet.

September already. Still long days, October not too bad and then only so many days to Christmas, my God don't start!

I always thought Frank Sinatra's version of September Song perfectly captures the melancholy of September, although in the song he's using September as a metaphor for a certain period in a person's life.

Yes September, time for the flu vaccine.

    https://www.hse.ie/eng/health/immunisation/pubinfo/flu-vaccination/about-the-vaccine/

"We are urging people in at-risk groups to get the flu vaccine. We strongly recommended the vaccine if you:

are 65 years of age and over
    are pregnant
    have a long-term health condition
    work in healthcare
    are a carer
live in a nursing home or other long-term care facility
in regular contact with pigs, poultry or water fowl

Don't get the flu vaccine if you have had a severe allergic (anaphylaxis) reaction to a previous dose or any part of the vaccine."
